My deleted post bassically said, the X1 launch price was £429, for £429 several of us in here could build a rig to run COD Ghosts at 1080p. MS's buying power means that pay a lot less than the retail price for GPU's/CPU's, HDD's etc.

Everyone is missing the point, in 2014 a £429 machine should be more capable than the X1 currently is. The technology is available off the shelf, programmers have been programming for many many years. This is not a new technology, the damn thing is built
on pretty much built standard tech.. Not like the PS3's "Cell" which was a whole new way of dealing with data.

 

The "point" is - I'm happy with my XB1. I'm happy with the resolution it has so far displayed. I'm happy that I made the right choice for MY needs.

Each to their own and of course, everyone is perfectly entitled to their own opinion, but that's mine so no complaints from me. Yet.

I reserve the right to change that opinion as time goes on, but for now at least, Ooh I'm Good with it

 

RAGE and Sega Tennis aren't 1080p native on 360, I seriously doubt Table Tennis is either. The amount of titles on the 360/PS3 that are native 1080p is extremely small.

 

I actually pretty much agree with the original post. That said good graphics are down to more than just the number of pixels. Number of polygons, draw distance and effects have a much bigger impact on the realism than the number of dots. Improvements in
any of these areas take more power and it's always a balance to get the best visuals. All xbox one games could run at 1080p, but then something else would have to give - and with the extra resolution it would probably highlight that a corner had been cut elsewhere.

Launch window games are never a good way to judge a console. I'm just hoping that there are some good releases coming soon.

like it has been said countless times, the x1 hardware can do 1080p/60fps all day long and probably stay cooler that certain other consoles, it is upto the devs to put more time and effort in to get those results, Microsoft has been making tools easier to
use andonce the devs get used to esram things should be fine then all future games would most likely be 1080p, but to me as long as the graphics don't look like the cowboy game from 1978 then i'm fine.

That stealth post delete you talk about was something that got caught in the filter. Not the actions of myself. Now, as for this thread, it opens up on pure comparison which is a breach of the forum rules. Don't get me wrong Ohh im good, I have no problem
myself with people talking about PlayStation, Wii or PC. On a gaming forum it would be stupid to think that everyone must be tied to the Xbox. However with that being said, the comparison rule is there for a reason.



It stops threads like this drawing a line in the sand and enticing people to post on their half of the beach. They don't end well and I have seen many good users across these forums fall prey to the tiresome argument that is pixels and frame rate.



Closing fact:

A standard is a matter of expectation, which is set to an individuals silent demand. I cant speak for everyone here but for myself, graphics and frame rates mean nothing so long as the game in question is fluent in quality and fun.



I will vouch for the users in these forums, they are thoroughly enjoyable and generate a lot of positivity. We all may go a little haywire sometimes and rant about something random for a page or two but it keeps the place sane and for the most part, it retains
the topic of discussion and if it doesn't, someone will always put it back on track.
