Suppose to be Next Gen, why we not seeing 1080p in Games?

@Bon3zz Resolution does not equal graphics. In fact some of the best looking 360 games are sub 720p and upscaled. I find it ironic that some of the best looking Xbox One and PS4 games are sub 1080p lmao. This just shows how stupid this whole thing is getting.

Either way of course better graphics matter (which both consoles deliver on) but nowhere near as much as people try to make it seem. The way some of you go on and on about resolution you'd think a 720p game looks the same on Xbox 360 as it does on Xbox One.

 

@Burst Axe, you're right resolution doesn't equal graphics but it can hinder them and it does matter. Honestly this is supposed to be the next generation. Standards have gone up and neither console has risen to the occasion. 1080/60 should be automatic with
out a sacrifice of graphical fidelity. I shouldn't be hearing about devs struggling to hit 900p or struggling to maintain 30fps or releasing patches to up native resolution. For now I'll write it off to devs not getting it yet, but if this conversation continues
into 2015-16 then we have a problem.

 

@Ascenion Wrong. You will have a problem. I'm having a blast on a 720p game running at 60fps with a shaky future at best (Killer Instinct) and I expect to still be doing so with it come 2015-16 and longer depending on how KI is handled past season 1. If
the “My HD is better than your HD" argument is enough bring you down then your gaming for all the wrong reasons. When I purchase my X1 in a week or two (truthfully I'm trying to hold out till Titanfall drops but having played the beta I know I'm sold on it
so I'll likely flip a coin) I will be doing so because it has more games that I feel I NEED to play. What resolution a game is won't hinder any of my fun at all.

 

@Burst Axe, this conversation was never about enjoyment or fun because I love my X1 and I recommend you snag one as soon as possible as they will probably be a little strained come Titanfall. It isn't about my HD being better it's about what is next gen
and what the standard is and why these "powerful" consoles are struggling to maintain this. So once again if the X1 and PS4 cannot do 1080/60 in 2 years with some consistency then that is an issue.

 

I'm genuinely surprised to find out that Titanfall is running on the Source Engine, the same one that runs Half Life 2, Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress 2. Among many others.

Given that it is near enough ten years old, that would seem to be another black mark against the Xbox One that it can't handle such an old engine at 1080.

Respawn must have done one hell of a lot of tinkering to Source to up its requirements so much.

 

Kids those days. It not about the rez and fps. It about game play and replay value. One those days kids. You be so hype about a PS4 game. Because it be 1080p 60fps. But in the end. It a crappy game and it not fun to play with. And then you will learn what
makes a good game. And it not what you think make one. But it be mine thinking what a good game.

 

Like it or not Dakrkplayer2 resolution and frames per second are a part of gameplay, they aren't separate from it.

It isn't wrong that people are expecting better than the previous gen by default. Though some could certainly put their posts across in a better manner, most points are fair ones.

 

Vote if they want that. They should get a PC. Because that can do 4k. Those console use old tech for hard wear If they want the best neither XB1 or PS4 will pervaded that. Only a PC can claim that.

 

@Ascenion Again most games on 360 and PS3 are sub 720p and upscaled. X1 and PS4 are 720p native and up. You asked for better and its right there in the pudding. I also doubt 1080p@60fps will be the standard at the end of these consoles life as devs try to
squeeze more performance out of these consoles once they're maxed out.

 

^^ I doubt it too considering The Witcher 3 has basically maxed them out and both resolution and frame rate are rumored below 1080/60 for each console. I mean dev tricks only go so far.

The technology in the One is better than what is in my gaming PC. Yet it seems to be able to do things the One can't.

Hopefully the new SDK Microsoft are getting out is finally going to be able to make use of the power the console obviously has.

 

I have learned two things:

Resolution and FPS bothers people

And people are bothered by others talking about it
