    I have to say that the Xbox support was great today. I had an issue with a game that I just purchased and would not start. No matter what I tried with everything else working. And I tried the troubleshooting steps. Support asked some questions about
    what I tried and refunded me. I had an issue on another console once before and could not get a refund so I am glad they did that. Never had to get a refund before on Xbox and was not sure but the support agent was nice, straight forward, and best of all
    did not make me repeat steps I had done before.

    As far as I know they only give 1 month for free for any issues.

    I have been without my Xbox account for 1 month (security proof issues). I was finally able to access it starting today and was only compensated a 1 month free token. This only covers the month that I was not able to access my account through no fault of
    my own. I was not able to manage my clans or use regular services such as Netflix which requires an additional monthly subscription. I do not feel like I was asking too much for at least 1 month extra free for some sort of compensation for my inconvenience.
    The support staff was great and friendly in trying to help with my issue but the way they did not compensate a loyal user (same account since original Xbox) was not great whatsoever.

    If people have security proof issues, try the hardest that you can to resolve the issue yourself or you may be told that you need to wait at least a month for a resolution or for things to all "reset."

    I am wondering something about this. Can I buy the game later if I find that it was the console. The game is Battleborn and I had not heard of any issues about this. I would like to play it and have thought of trying to get a copy either physically or
    maybe a digital code somewhere and using another console and seeing if it works. But I have heard the game will still show as being purchased (currently does but I just got the refund) and I would not want to get banned for something like that.

    Does anyone know if buying a code somewhere or a physical version overrides the old purchase?

    It should over-ride the original purchase whether you get it disc or download.

    Nice that you had a good experience with Support.

    I've had to use them a couple of times and they've always sorted me very quickly.

  6. Yeah, figured it should just replace the purchase. I am just going to install the game when I get a hold of the physical version here later and then try it. Get that to work and get the digital that way I can share with my wife. I could buy physical myself
    but then I could not share.

    It is Microsoft's job to keep your account SECURE. It is YOUR job to keep your account accessible.

    You're lucky you got the 1 month code, if it was an issue with resetting your password or updating your proofs, it is in the TOU that it is up to you to keep your info up to date, not Microsoft's. Support is not obligated to give you any compensation if
    you forget or lose access to your info.
