I was told to come here reguarding a gamertag change. I made this gamer tag 3hrs ago or so and I forgot a space in between my name, tried support but Aaron gave me the run around for over an hour (Check his chat log if you can) Then I started talking to
Roi, he told me to come here, and here I am..

But all I need a space in between lnfinite and Reps please....I've been at this for over 4hrs.......

i just contacted xbox live support on my phone and told me to tell an ambassador so here i am and heres what they told me to say i was play WAW and as we all know that game is modded put the wazoo and i got really mad so i cantacted xbox live support i
have their gamertags but she told me you would privately chat with me

Xbox support call: Force GamerTag Change needed (Refrence Number)

Recently I had to create this new account for my xbox,

My friend told me that it is against the rules to put your name as your gamertag AFTER I made this my new account, so just literally 30 seconds ago

I got off the phone with an xbox support member telling me to post here asking for a "Force Gamertag Change"

He also told me to post this reference number for you to look at our convoersation: 1163284260

Please help as soon as possible. Thank you.

Hey, this is something that would need to be handled by phone support, i would suggest contacting phone support again to get this issue resolved.

Sorry there is no way to add a space to a name as the system does not recognize tags with spaces or no spaces or caps no caps. and dave mcfly 85 are considered the same tag.

Actually, there's no way Phone support can help you either.

Some gamertags do indeed have spaces in them, but let's put it this way: If my Gamertag was Tenth Street Red, the system would still recognize it was , even though it appears to have spaces.

The only way to change your Gamertag now, because it does not violate the Terms of Use, would be to pay to have a Gamertag change, though I'm not sure simply adding a space is worth it.

On that note, I wouldn't worry so much about the space. Your Gamertag is fine as it is. It's clearly two words, and many people (Including myself!) smoosh multiple words together for the sake of their tag.

I contacted an XBox support rep and he told me that spaces are allowed and ARE recognized by their system. Which is why I was able to create my old gamertag without a space, because it recognizes it as a different gamertag. He told me that it takes 45 days
for old gamertags to be deleted when they are changed before they are available again. And that will cause the system to tell you it's in use. Thanks for the suggestion though Smwutches, it led me to my answer
