    Support not sending missing hard drive after warranty repair


    Late January I received my repaired xbox 360. After contacting support once in Feb and again in March I was told each time that a hard drive would be delivered. That is twice now that I feel I have been blown off. Until I get the hard drive it is a paperweight. Is
    there a way to escalate this to someone who cares? By the time I get the hard drive the warranty on the repaired unit will probably be expired. Will I be able to have the warranty extended? Please, someone help me get my order fulfilled!

    Hi,

    Thanks for response. I’ve contacted xbox/microsoft tech support. It seems like it has been some kind of bug in the system. After sending scan of receipt, my warranty was extended to two years. Sadly my xbox came back in worse condition than before
    the repair. I’ve already contacted the tech support and I’m sending it back for another repair in next week.

    Xbox 360 restarts when downloading large file

    Xbox 360 Hard drives have a 90 day warranty from the date they were purchased. After that time, they are no longer covered under any sort of warranty. If the hard drive came with the purchase of your Xbox 360, and the console itself is still under warranty
    then the hard drive would be as well. The 90 day warranty only counts if the hard drive was purchased separately from the console. You can visit this page

    Sorry, but you would have to continue working with support on that issue. There's no further information we would have on the forums. They typically ask that you not send the hard drives when you send the console in for repair because of issues like this.

    The easiest route for you is to purchase a replacement Microsoft Xbox HDD. These HDD's are firmware locked to the xbox consoles only so you cannot use any other make of hard drive. You would then recover your gamertag, redownload your DLC's where needed.
    If you can load from the HDD at all you may be able to get enough access to send your gamesaves to the cloud storage so as to redownload to you new hard drive. It is likely that even if you send your HDD for repair that you will lose everything on it. Most
    drives have to be reformatted after repair if indeed it is repairable. If your hard drive was purchased with your console and is still in warranty, you can arrange a service request through our support section.

    Seagate 2tb external hard drive

    If your Seagate 2TB external hard drive is NOT detected on any of the USB ports on your Xbox console or PC then it is likely that it has become defective. If the unit is within the warranty period then you can contact Seagate to do a warranty repair/replacement.
    When they issue you a RMA then you send your defective drive to their repair depot and they send you back a replacement (this may be a refurbished unit).

    Hello

    Actually the way things are set up with hardware repairs it may still be possible to have you send it in for repair or exchange the device depending on warranty status or like you said paying for the repair if its out of warranty. Now upon reviewing this
    with our internal support teams I was advised that there is a chance it would be returned back to you unrepaired if there are missing pieces(such as the harddrive). So if you don't have all the original components then I wouldn't recommend you send it in.
    If you did want to try the repair options I'd suggest you put the hard drive back in. Check out:

    Note: if the console is returned unrepaired any charges for the repair will be refunded to the original payment instrument
