Super Time Force won't auto-save

Got Super Time Force today as part of the Games For Gold promotion. Played through the tutorial, then shut my Xbox One off. When I booted it back up and relaunched the game, none of my progress had been saved and I had to start back over at the beginning.
Played through the tutorial again and completed the first mission. Shut down the game and then fired it back up just to make sure it auto-saved at some point. It still didn't. The game provided me no other option but to restart the game from scratch AGAIN
(which I haven't yet done).

I contacted the developer on Twitter, and they said this is the first they've heard of this problem and that the game definitely should have auto-saved. Has anyone else had this issue? Are there any Xbox One settings that could affect auto-saves?

@DanteSparda504 The whole hook of the game is that you're cloning yourself and playing alongside all the copies. Wouldn't make much sense multiplayer sadly.

I'm liking it so far. It's probably not worth $15, but I have a ton of currency anyways. The achievements aren't too bad either. I've been playing for about an hour and already have 250 gamerscore in it.

 

I'm having exactly the same problem. Frustrating as until I know it's fixed, I don't want to play again as all progress will be lost.

 

I messed around with it some last night and STILL couldn't get it to recognize my game save, even though I think there might be one because when I go to the game's "Settings" page, there's a "clear save" option. But no matter what I do -- I've tried rebooting
my Xbox completely AND reinstalling the game -- the game won't recognize the save upon start-up. It acts like I'm a brand-new player every time I launch the game, which is indeed terribly frustrating.

I checked a few other games, and autosave functions seem to be working correctly everywhere else. So I'm really not sure what the problem is here.

 

Hey, you two! This is a weird one! Aside from everything you've tried, Zak, I'd like you guys to see if you can see the saved data under the game in My Games & Apps. You'll want to highlight the game while in My Games & Apps, then hit the Menu button and
select Manage data. The game saves should be listed there to the right. Please do let me know if it's even there or if you were able to delete it and it started syncing for you (or not).

I really appreciate your patience with us while we get this sorted out. Hopefully we can get you both fixed up!

 

A game save was indeed listed for my profile. I deleted it and started the game again. Same issue. I complete the tutorial and move onto the first mission. If I hit menu and select replay from checkpoint, it allows me to start from that mission. But as soon
as I exit the game or even go back to the main menu, I don't get a "continue game" option. I only get "play game" which drops me right back at the very beginning, pre-tutorial.

 

Thanks for testing that for me, Zak! I have gone ahead and bubbled you guys up to the proper teams and we're working on it. I'll keep an eye on this thread. If you have any other games that the saves aren't syncing, please let me know so I can add them up.

FYI: I contacted the developer on Twitter, and though they said the game should save right after the tutorial, they recommended I play through the tutorial, the first two missions and the first boss all in one sitting in order to get to the map screen to
see if it would properly save there. Did that today, and it seems to have worked. So for anyone having this issue, I'd advise the same.

 

Woohoo! Glad to see they got that for you. I'll update our investigating team with that. Hopefully Chavin can try this out and it will work for them, too! If it works for him, we'll verify your post for you for at least this game.
