Super Slow Speed When Downloading From Marketplace

This download speed issue has made my Xbox completely unusable. Trying to download a console update since this morning finally got to 47% after five hours but then the update just reset itself. I would love to be able to go into my network settings and get
my information but I can't because as soon as my Xbox gets online I have to start the update again and battle through continuous "There was a problem with the update" messages downloading about one MB every five minutes. Fix this POS

 

My Internet is comcast blast 105.

Wired connection, arris telephony modem, bridge mode (wireless disabled, no nat on the modem), asus rt-ac68u broadband router. One console using ethernet, the other two wireless.

Using dhcp / Automatic settings for ip and dns settings on all three consoles.

Ip 192.168.1.62

Subnet mask : 255.255.255.0

Gateway : 192.168.1.1

Dns 1 : 192.168.1.1 (router's ip)

Dns 2 : 0.0.0.0

Wired Mac : 50-1a-c5-c6-d2-8f

Wireless Mac : 50-1a-c5-c6-d2-91

I tried using manual settings, including google's dns service, with no change in performance, so it's back to automatic settings.

 

The above was my wired box.

 

I'm using Comcast in Boston. 94 Mbps down, 12 Mbps up, 0% packet loss, around 90 ping. Wired connection. Moderate NAT, I could change it to Open, but I don't need to and we all know that's not the issue.

Where's the service alert for this issue that has been affecting lots of people for weeks?

 

I pre-ordered Metal Gear Solid Phantom Pain yesterday and tried to download, noticed it was horribly slow, let it go overnight and 18 hours later it was only at 22%. Noticed bandwidth usage was only at 100-200 kbps, sometimes even down to zero or single
digit bps. Speed test was still decent though, 29 Mbps down. Got into an online chat with MS, the rep said "I think I know what it is" then suddenly we were disconnected and the game mysteriously began downloading at 29 Mbps.

After it was at 58% I got over-confident and launched world of tanks to play while MGS finished, but then the bandwidth usage immediately dropped back to 100 kbps. Subsequent online chats have been fruitless.

Really have no idea if this is MS or Comcast. I suspect one or the other, maybe both, is able to limit how much a person can download in a given period - especially if someone has been downloading a ton of games recently, which I did.

 

Ok, well when i created this post i did state my DL + UL speeds I had at the time, I shall repost these for Quinzel though with the most updated figures, which are as of 08.44am, 31st August 2015.

Provider - Plusnet

DL - 68.99mbps

UL - 15.79mbps

Packet Loss - 0%

Latency - 150ms

All the other settings are correct, NAT is open, gaming/streaming and everything else is fine, it's only when I come to use the MS store to download something. I've been in touch with my provider, who assured me it is nothing to do with them, I then downloaded
something via my laptop wirelessly (which runs around 40mbps) and I was able to download a 5gb file quicker than I could the 271mb update from Microsoft on my console. I understand that you need to ask people to do the basic stuff like reset router + powercycle
console etc, what is frustrating though is when you get so many different answers from people in support or on forums. Clearly there is an issue here otherwise there wouldn't be as many people posting on here or on forums like reddit, so why is this not being
addressed with something other than a generic post???

 

And typically as I posted that my speed seems to have increased dramatically, currently got a game downloading from the store and watching the bandwidth use I'm getting around 70mbps, will post again if this drops or deteriorates.

Mine is sporadic. I had taken titanfall off my console while I concentrated on other games. Recently my son said he wanted to play some more, so I've been trying since yesterday afternoon to reinstall the game and the dlc packs. Most of the time it appears
to be stuck, but on occasion I've seen it suddenly take off for anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes, then stall again. In fact, it has switched between the main game and the dlc several times. Two of the dlc packs have now finished, and it looked as though IMC Rising
was going to complete quickly, but just as it got to around 98 percent, it stopped, then switched back to the game, which has been hung at around 70% for the past 30 minutes..

This feels like the MS server infrastructure is overloaded, like the good old days on ftp sites. They'll hum along while the load isn't too high from clients, then get overloaded with requests, and everything slows to a crawl.

 

This is still a problem. Going to be very frustrated if TPP doesn't download by tomorrow, have had it installing for over 12 hours now.

 

I've seen extremely little improvement this morning, but its still extremely slow. I atleast am inching towards 100% for my TU update for Far Cry 4, which has been installing since yesterday morning.

 

I'm in western mass having this same issue for days downloading Forza Horizons 2 demo. Stopped downloading the Black Ops 3 demo because the speed was SO slow. Getting download speeds between 1bit/s and 2mb/s. (WTF?) I have been able to download about 250mb
PER HOUR! I went through all troubleshooting steps to no avail.
