Super slow download speeds - Open NAT, full signal strength, 60mbs connection...

Hello!

I just picked up a Sunset Overdrive X1 bundle, and am having issues with my download speeds...

I noticed in "Detailed network statistics" that I am only downloading at 0.82mbs (~440kb/s), but my connection is rated at 60mbs (7000+kb/s)...

- I am connected wirelessly to a router

- My network is tagged as "Open" in X1 network settings.

- My signal strength is seemingly at maximum (100% wireless strength)

- My modem is rated at 60mbs and my PC and cellphone both speedtest.net @ 59-62mbs

Anyone have any ideas as to what's going on? Is this a microsoft issue?

Super slow download for FIFA 17 Trial

Hi,

My nephew came round and wanted to play the FIFA 17 Trial that I can access via my EA Access subscription. Problem is, my download has been super slow. At first it started down at around 60Mb/s but after nearly two hours of downloading, it is now only achieving
5-7mb/s, a massive drop!

I've done a speed test on my PC and I'm showing 110mb/s download speed. Is there a problem at Microsoft/EA end or is it me? The console is in the same room as the router and is connected via a wired connection. Before you ask about 'NAT', mine is open -
not that NAT has anything to do with speed anyway.

Could it be simply too many people downloading it?

Possibly wireless interference.

The best way to fix that is to log into the router settings and change the wireless channel.

Yeah I'm having the same issuse. My download speed on my XOne says its at 30mbs and it has taken almost an hour to download 2%

like I know Microsoft uses AKAMAI Servers to provide content. So if you connect to a Akamai Server too far away speed goes down.

You can change this if you use a DNS Server in your country.

You can try Open DNS an see if you get better speed.

In Network Settings you can set:

208.67.222.222

208.67.220.220

see:
www.opendns.com/.../opendns-ip-addresses

@WILK0: The Extra features of Xbox LIVE shouldn't be slowing your connection down. I've just been updated to Virgin Media's 60MB connection and my speeds are awesome. They weren't great at first though. I had to change the wireless channel on my router
from the default one. Now everything is super fast. I just downloaded a 1GB demo from LIVE in under 5 minutes.

The age of your console won't make any difference to the download speed. Are you wired or wireless? If you're wireless, how far away is your console from the router? What's its signal strength? Have you tried power cycling your modem/router? Contacted
your ISP?

Just before anyone posts here about changing the NAT or opening ports, be aware, opening ports does not increase download speed or overall online performance.
