Super hate mail recently

So I've been getting into COD recently and my gamer tag has been the target of twenty plus really annoying messages both voice and text. I don't exactly have the cash for a new gamer tag but I want to know if there's anything I can do to like block messages
or just get people off my case? that is unless there's a way to get a new one

I get hatemail all the time, but I don't really think I do anything to deserve it. I very seldomly do cheap stuff.

Getting a 75 killstreak in the Huey got me some on a few occasions.

I've gotten hate mail from someone on my own team once, he was a recon trying to snipe and ended up with like 160 points by the end of the rush match so the next match as defenders I spammed tracers darts to his face trying to get him to do something other
than sniping, because he was clearly bad at it.

 

No one should EVER force you to spend 10 dollars ( YOUR Money) to change a gamertag. if you like it keep it. It's COD even if you change it they will still make fun of it. trust me. Now, the only thing you can do when they send you hate mail is just block
communications from the person who sent it. maybe report them too but i dont ever think it's that serious to bother the Enforcement team about.

 

Mute,Avoid player,File a complaint under text/voice messages,Block communications if they sent you messages.

1. You can block communication, mute, and report, but remember it's COD and there will always be someone to find "something"about your GT. My personal choice, keep practicing, improve your score, than let them see what kind of skills you have.

2. You can find a clan to help you improve.

3. If you don't block communication, only communicate with friends.

4. Keep your GT, it's yours

 

How to avoid these problems

1. Mute players in lobby

2. Delete and ignore messages

3. Report the players so they can be banned

- these people are just trying to get on your nerves. If you keep replying back to them, they will keep sending hate messages. They are the low life scums on xbox live.

 

That's what I love about playing games like COD. People trash talking and sending me hate mail. I just report people when they get offensive on me.

 

The OP could just change their Xbox account privacy settings to 'Friends Only'. This would prevent anyone not on their friends list from sending messages. Like the others have said, there should be no reason why anyone should be forced to change a Gamertag
due to harassment.

 

Tips for making a gt:

1. Avoid any spelling variation of goat in your gt, especially if it has a "see" sound at the end.

 

I'm gonna have to start playing CoD again , ain't had no hate for ages .

 

Set all communications to 'friends only' and you'll be fine.
