Sunset Overdrive

Mixed opinions on the main One forum, apparently if you like on rails Tony Hawke type games you will love it, if your expecting free movement to roam around at will you wont. Thats firmlyl put me off but I will also be interested to know what the esteemed
opinions from the UK regulars are.

 

Wow.

This game is awesome.

Think "Tony Hawk's Dead Grinding 3" in a "Crazy Taxi" style.

It takes a little bit of getting used to but it's really fun to play.

You get the sweet sense of satisfaction you got from pulling off smooth transitions in the old Tony Hawk Games (back when your board would stick to anything and you could essentially grind the city limits)...

The Zombie Apocalypse sensation of "Dead Rising 3" with it's sensation of a sprawling city and overwhelming enemy numbers... but without the pain in the backside nagging timed missions that count down like the final sands from an egg timer snatching missions
away from you as you're trying to just enjoy the game and explore.

The game is also amped full of the same vibrant, colourful visuals and style and sense of fun that made the original "Crazy Taxi" such a joy to play on the Sega Dreamcast.

This is a game made by Gamers for Gamers.

But hey, it's early doors. Maybe it gets really dull later on?

Right now this game is complete "Awesome-Sauce".

As Az said,it takes a little getting used to but once you do you'll be banging out combos like the old Tony Hawks games & trying to beat your friends in the addictive challenges.

It's well over the top & great fun.

The grinding thing is what's putting me off the game I think, if it was just a free roam game in that style I would be all over it, but then I suppose it would just be another GTA/Saints row clone.....

 

Loving this game, the grinding, buncing and swinging is what makes this game unique, fun and a challenge. The game would be way to easy if you could just run around. Especially with the over the top weapons.

Also highly loving the art style and the humour of the game.

The coop mode is a blast.

Just woke up! (Working nights)

Will get some grub in my belly, a few cups of tea and then i'm gonna jump in to Sunset city!

Absolutely stunning game, controls take a while to get to grips with but once you start getting the hang of moving around, jumping whilst killing enemies this game is an absolute blast to play.

I will be playing evolve with Genchy as well but will try and fit both in. The coop mode is a blast. I had a laugh playing a little bit last night. Will be even better with people communicating etc.

 

From what ive played about an hour so or so I like it was able to string a decent size combo toegether its just learning what I can jump on to continue it thats might take a bit to learn other than, bright, colourful fun game.

 

Absolutely love it! its pretty much everything I wanted it to be, and an absolute joy to play

Not tried coop yet, but hoping to get a few hours in before work this afternoon

 

Sunset Overdrive is crazy good! I couldn't imagine anyone not having a complete and utter blast on it. Love it!

 

I wasnt sure about this game at all and now id say its the best game ive played this gen by a country mile. Completed story mode this morning....love it. A modern feeling old skool game....trememdous

 

Well I caved and bought it.....really glad I did lol!

This game is pretty wicked so far.

Had a few goes online with Mr Badger earlier, TOUGH with just 2 of you but joined some randoms and it was just hectic fun and a laugh even though I was about as useful as a fart in a thunderstorm lol
