Sunset Overdrive, YOUR review of this game :)

Between weapons,rush,badges,ect...There are several ways to improve play styles.

There are so much possibilities and things to discover.

I have finally figured out how to make Sunset Overdrive fun for me and here is what I did.

(1) Don't shoot while grinding

(2) Use explosive weapons only

(3) Use "hit & run" tactics, stay on the ground for "1" second only

the only thing I hate are the robots. it feels like the weapons made to kill them, are hardly effective. usually I freeze them and then RL them to hell, not use their guns. granted I need to save up for better weapons.

the game had me laughing at the commentary, especially fizzie talking to your character lol

I am so happy right now because after using my new build set-up, I can " run & gun " LOL

Since I am only using the TNT Teddy and the Hairspray Bomb, I can stay on the ground and shoot, using the air dash to avoid getting hit

Then, when things get too crazy, I grind around the area to get some breathing room

@xeng, I didn't even think twice about that weapon after watching the tutorial lol. There I could see that it took way too many shots to down the robots lol.

 

So I am addicted to the challenges (more so the transversal & bomb delivery ones). I'm always checking daily to make sure no one on my list has topped my score and if they have I make sure I'm #1 again ;-)

I think I'm getting close to the end, that 100,000 Overdrive weapon just popped up and bought it immediately! Haven't had a chance to use it much because I just got done with the Excalibro melee weapon mission (which was AWESOME!) but will dive back into
the game in a few hours! I'm almost ready to tackle some co-op, can't wait!

 

Got some story missions to do....but i still got around 1/3 of each collectible to find.

I try to get gold as much as possible on challenges but some are quite hard.

But anyway,great fun....i bounce...See y'a.

 

Finally finished the game! Have to say that it was a awesome ride and I love the ending (also the after credits). Now I'm going to go back and finish some side missions, challenges and collect all the goodies. This is easily my GOTY. It's really something
special and has a nice charm to it (can't stress tha enough).

On another note it's sad how MS isn't giving this game the attention it deserves. As soon as it came out it seems like they stopped promoting it after the first week and got ready for CoD and Halo. I can understand both but why not also promote this new
IP exclusive they have? A game that loves being itself through & through and has a lot of fun with it. I have quite a few memorable moments with this game myself and I know others do too. I just hope they don't let this IP go to waste. Maybe I just don't watch
tv enough and there is still a good amount of commercials for it (I hope so). One place that is promoting it is IGN. They having been showing love for his game as well as some well-known youtubers spokesman that's always good.

Ok venting over, just don't want this game to flop and then MS wonders why. Anyways, I'll be heading into the co-op mode soon so if anyone wants to add me for that send me a PM

Sunset Overdrive is an awesome game but it isn't mainstream like Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Halo: Master Chief Collection / Halo 5 Guardians.

I agree with you 1000% that Sunset Overdrive should be Game Of The Year in 2014 because it is such a breath of fresh air

Right! Just doing my best to spread the word about this game. I'm going to invite my cousins over this weekend (if it's not snowing too bad) to try the game out. I have 2 buddies picking the game up around Black Friday

 

passing until its half priced..all games are worth to me these days considering the dlc scams and lack luster content at launch.

 

No Scams with this game. Jam packed with fun and content to keep you busy for hours.

 

my love for this game is start drop off, i'm to the point of farming for OverCharge, and it is getting old fast, have gold on all but 3 challenges, monsters don't give much, not coming across the OverCharge trucks enough, so i'm just doing the night defenses
over and over again, only getting about 200-300 per go.

anyone have a better way of getting OC?

Agree with RippenHarra. My paid my $60 and I really feel like I have the whole content, no extra content needed. I'm sure there is DLC on the way but the main game feels complete compared to let's say, Destiny (still enjoy it by the way). But yeah, no scams
or anything with SO.
