Sunset Overdrive won't finish installing - 5 days and counting ...

I have had SO installing on my Xbox One console since release. On day one I began installing right before I went to bed. After work the next day (late evening - the game had been installing for almost 24 hours), I saw that the game was no longer installing.
I started and actually played all the way until the 'grinding' tutorial, then the screen went to the 'installing' splash page with the horrible Guitar Hero music. It has been there ever since.

I have rebooted the machine, I then did a HARD reboot and unplugged-waited-restarted the console. I have tried quitting the game using the home-button then menu button and hitting "Quit," THEN restart and put the disc BACK in AGAIN no combination of actions
has provided any relief. What should I do next? While I'm waiting, I am going to uninstall the game and try reinstalling AGAIN.

If you're only waiting for an hour then you have no room to complain (no offense); I've been waiting for Sunset Overdrive to finish installing since 6 a.m. this morning and it's only at 30%... :'(

That's right! Sunset Overdrive has finally gone golden!
It won't be long now.

 

Ok, so I presume you have a disc copy of the game. If it still does not install on your second attempt please try disconnecting the console from the internet for the duration of the install. That should solve the problem for you.
