Sunset overdrive not working on pc gamepass- sends me back to the main menu when i click play

ive done all these before unfortunately- the game doesn't crash or freeze, it just starts loading when I click play, then goes back to the main menu.

Thanks for reaching out to us in the forums for this issue. Currently, there is an Xbox Live Service alert out for several games, in this case it does affect Sunset Overdrive. I recommend going to the Xbox Live Status page, selecting the green NOTIFY ME
button & entering your mobile phone number so that you'll be notified with a one-time only text when the service for the game is available again.

Thanks for the update with your reply. As this is something that has been happening to you for a while now, I would recommend trying the troubleshooting solutions available in the following support articles once the service alert ends for Sunset Overdrive,
to see if they will help out:

Game freezes or stops responding on a Windows 10 device

Game crashes due to antivirus scanning on Windows 10

Perform a Clean Startup to determine whether background programs are interfering
with your games or programs

I hope that this helps out a bit more.

I've had this problem for months though- I don't think its to do with the service alerts.

Yes the loading screen takes me back to the main menu and no error code appears. This does not happen with any other game just sunset overdrive. Also windows is up to date on version 1903.
