Sunset Overdrive does not launch - Steam Version

So I've been trying to play the Steam version of Sunset Overdrive but the game simply won't launch properly.

The intro cinematic plays and then the program immediately shuts down to desktop before even reaching the menu.

I've tried running it in compatibility Windows 8 mode, running it as administrator and I've set it as an exception for my firewall and my antivirus but no change.

I've also tried playing the gamepass version of the game one my PC but I have the same issue.

My specs are :

CPU - Ryzen 7 3700x

GPU - RTX 2070

RAM - 32gb 3200mhz DDR4

OS - Windows 10 Home

My GF also tried running it and had no issues on her end.

Her Specs are :

CPU - Ryzen 5 1600

GPU - GTX 1070

RAM - 16gb 2400mhz DDR4

OS- Windows 10 Home

Can anyone help me find a solution to my problem?

It is working on her rig but not yours? Have you checked the games forum for compatibility issues? Id try uninstalling and reinstalling the game.

Of course i did. That was my first thought after all else failed.

reinstalls the game, although it would be a good idea to look if other steam users have the same problem

You may want to post this in the appropriate place as you've posted in the XBox, but I'll try to help

Are you using Avast or Bitdefender Antivirus perhaps? This is a known problem with these. If you're using Comodo Antivirus, you are probably stuck with restoring Windows 10 without it. IF you're using Comodo Firewall:

CIS Settings > Advanced Protection Configuration > Miscellaneous Settings:

Click 'Settings' > 'Advanced Protection' > 'Miscellaneous'

Open the 'Miscellaneous' interface, locate "Don't detect shell code injection in these applications".

These applications is a link, click it and choose Add

Then choose Files. You'll get an open file window.

Locate sunset.exe under the Steam, SteamApps, Common, Sunset Overdrive.

It probably won't hurt to do it for the main Steam.exe as well.

Sunset Overdrive is now available on Windows 10 and Steam, so here is a few things you should know about!

This game is not an Xbox Play Anywhere game. Users who purchased the game on Xbox One will need to purchase the Windows 10 version as well if they wish to play on Windows.
This game is not a part of Game Pass on Windows 10. It will remain in the Xbox One Game Pass library but that access will not extend to the Windows 10 platform for Game Pass subscribers.
Sunset Overdrive will not have online multiplayer on Windows 10
Sunset Overdrive will only be available via Game Pass on Xbox One and will not be available through Game Pass on Windows 10.
The Windows 10 version of Sunset Overdrive will not have online multiplayer features.
There is no subscription required to play on Windows 10.
As this game is not an Xbox Play Anywhere game, the game saves will not transfer from the Windows 10 platform to the Xbox One platform.
