Sunset Overdrive broke my Xbox! :(

Well, not really... Still, when 12:01 EDT came, my digital copy of Sunset Overdrive started updating at 100% and has yet to stop. I discovered that even though all of the additional content had already been installed (season pass, weapons packs, etc.), they
had to apparently be installed again as well (and I can't transfer them from my internal HDD to my external one for some reason - it simply refuses to work). In a nutshell, I can't access the game and I can't figure out why. To make matters worse, my console
is constantly freezing up and then catching up to itself, which is complicating matters. I've already done a hard-reset to no avail as well. None of my other friends who have also purchased the game that are online as of this message are having this issue
- they're already enjoying their awesomepocalypse and unlocking numerous achievements along the way while I'm left out in the cold... I messaged them about it and the only advice I got was to delete it and reinstall it, but that's not something I'm willing
to do unless I absolutely have to because I want to play it now and it would take all night to reinstall. Is anyone else having this problem? I've heard of similar issues with previous games that have released, but don't remember the solution that was given
for those games when they got stuck. Is anyone else experiencing anything like this?

GG I had this same issue. It said updating and was stuck at installation 100%. I paused it, and resumed it and it took. I have played through the first 4 missions and this is awesome. It is The Walking Dead, GTA, and Breaking Bad all rolled into one
over stimulated package.

 

Mine worked fine... Don't you hate it when someone in a thread says something like that?

I must be really dull then because I work 6 days a week. lol I manage to actually squeeze in a lil play time now and then so... I'm not always dull I guess.

I would agree with your friend GG, delete the lot and start again.

 

Try a Hard Reset. Peps say that clears the cache and cleans up problems with the system. ;D

If it "broke" your Xbox, you have your rights to send it under warranty, after troubleshooting first.

That's why I prefer disc for larger games on Xbox 1. Especially downloading at ADSL Broadband speeds and since households including mine have monthly data caps. I find too much playing can get really dull or boring.

Just delete it and reinstall it.

 

But I do feel bad GG, I hope you get it working because I'd really hate for that to happen to me.

 

I'd report it to Xbox Support if you haven't already. But try downloading it again. Hard reset your console and your internet router. If Xbox Support and troubleshooting still and rebooting console and your internet router doesn't resolve any issues and
your Xbox 1 continues to play up, it could be a fault with your console's hardware which falls under your 12 month warranty which is still going but not for long, for Day 1 buyers.

I know for GTA V on Xbox 360, official Xbox Support staff have said not to install one of the two discs which comes with the game otherwise it could cause crashes or gaming issues (think it was the play disc, I don't play GTA V anymore uninstalled it but
still have the disc version game collecting dust).

 

Can't tell you what to do GG, SSOD is sitting locked on my console for another 2 days. Hopefully this issue doesn't arise. Feel bad for you. Lucky it's only a 22gig DL
