Summer spotlight rewards program

So I bought Fortnite last night (July 25), which happened to be the release date of that particular game. Today (July 26) I receive an email telling me that if I spend $40 on new games, I get 4000 rewards points. Fortnite was even pictured in the email.
Now I understand that technically the promotion was not going on when I bought the game. Had I known there would be a promotion, I would have waited a day to buy it. But why on Earth would the promotion not start on the day the game was released? It feels
like a slap in the face for people who bought the game on the release date. Like, "Ha, you idiot, if you would have waited just one day, you could have received
this!" Understandably, I believe, I should be entitled to the rewards points, even though my purchase technically falls outside of the promotion. Six hours before it, to be precise. Now had I made the purchase after the promotion, I agree
that I would have no right to the rewards. Before the promotion - which I could have no way of knowing about beforehand - is another story entirely. Especially so close to the start of the promotion, and most frustratingly, on the very first day
that the game was available to play.

I apologize for the long post, but I just wanted to make as clear as possible my point of view on this issue. In conclusion, I feel like I - and anyone else who purchased Fortnite on its release day - should be entitled to the rewards points offered with
the promotion.

Bought Fortnite no rewards points.

I bought fortnite and didn't get my 4000 rewards points from the Summer Spotlight Cool Rewards Event.

For help with the Rewards program, it's best to post int he Xbox Rewards Questions support forum. Even though the email got to you on the 26th, the offer started on the 25th. So it would count.

This is the discussion forum and is not monitored by the staff, you will want to re-post and change the forum type to support. Once you do that the staff will respond in 1-2 business days.

However, the answer is we are not retroactively rewarded to promotions, just like items can go on sale at the store after you pay full price. The pre-order list is updated quarterly, so that went up prior to E3 announcements. The new list will go up October
1st and it is POSSIBLE it will be updated with additional titles although that is a rare occurrence, and they will not make an announcement in advance, only IF it happens. There really are not any big E3 titles that come out before the new pre-order promotion
starts, only Forza 7 (9/28) that I can see. Everything else is October or later, which the new promo would start October 1st.

When will I receive my Rewards Credits?

After you have completed filling your progress bar, your Rewards Credits will appear as pending within 96 hours.

It takes up to 96 hours for us to receive and process purchase information, so it is too early to see that purchase Rewarded.

It takes 96 hours for purchases to reflect on the website. You will not see anything before Saturday if you purchased yesterday.

Are you referring to the Summer Spotlight sale https://www.xbox.com/en-US/promotions/summer-spotlight, if so the version of the game appears to be the base
game for Age of Wonders Planetfall.
