Suggestion: Dont Have the Console Decide When Its Time to Update.

So I'm pretty *** off right now. I was in the middle of a game, a couple hours into a session that has NO SAVE POINTS FOR THE ACTIVITY.... I can't stress that enough. Anyway my stupid console decided it was time to update in the middle of the final boss
encounter of my game, and I had absolutely ZERO SAY in the matter. I just got booted from my game and lost hours of progress. Needless to say I'm pretty furious that the console didn't even prompt me or give me a warning, or even the option to update later.
WHAT THE HECK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If my console wants to update on its own when I'm not playing, fine. But give me the option to update later, or don't even prompt me at all when I'm in the middle of a game. AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Updates every single day

Same thing pretty much, its especially annoying that it decides to update at inappropriate times kicking me out of any game I'm playing because it's apparently time for an update, when its clearly not as the update is the same size every day.

Keep having to download August update

Since the August update was released I have to download it once every week. I download it and then when I check back on the console system a week later its available to download again. It is the same August update every time. Is this some kind of hard drive
error? The update downloads and updates with no errors and then a few days later I have to download it all over again. Btw I am not in the preview program.

You have an option to select "continue offline"

This way you can resume the game which has paused in the background

Any other suggestions?

I decided not to try pulling the hard drive and formatting and have tried every other suggestion I can find (including the console reset and offline update)

I might try calling Microsoft directly and speaking to their support when I have time.

I had this same problem after the update. Contacted Microsoft two times and was told to just hit the controller when this happens. After hours of messing with tv and xbox settings I decided to do something that support should have suggested. I restored the
console to factory default and reinstalled all my apps. Its fixed. Maybe Microsoft should give me a tech job.

Its a great idea. Not always i have internet and i dont know when i neeed update the game or console
