Suggestion: Ability to Resell Licenses for Digital Downloads

Hello everyone! So, *almost* everyone has either purchased a game they didn’t like, OR completed a game to just let them sit in the “Ready to Install” tab, never to be touched again, plus the fact that refunds are rarely issued on games.

This posts acts as a suggestion or petition for Microsoft to allow us to resell the licenses for our unwanted games.

-How It Works-

While hovering over the game you want to sell, you would click “Start” and get this screen:





Somewhere on there would be option to “Sell Game” (this could also be added under “Manage Game & Add-Ons”) and once clicked would give a disclaimer that once the game is listed, you will no longer have access to it.

As mentioned above, once you list the game, you will no longer have access as the license for your game will be on-hold for next buyer.

At any point you will have the option to cancel your listing, as long as someone else hasn’t purchased it. Once cancelled, you’ll receive access to the game once again.

Pricing is a different story. Either: Players will be allowed to create their own prices OR Microsoft will allow you to choose between a certain number of prices (30% off Market, 50% off Market, 70% off Market, etc) and when you buy a game when it
is on-sale, when you sell it, you can only sell it below the price you purchased it for — this prevents an issue where people would begin buying and selling games to gain profit.

While ideally, most people would love to cash out their sales into their personal bank accounts, I believe most users would agree that only receiving credit towards their Microsoft Account Balance would be enough considering being given the opportunity
to sell digital downloads.
