Suggested Dashboard Changes to "Friends" Section (Join/Invite Friends Faster)

When I want to party up with, or join a friend, the steps include (from the home screen):

1. Scroll to the "Friends" tab

2. Click on the big "Friends" tile

3. Scroll to, and select my friend's gamertag

4. Then select "Send" and choose between a message and invites

The biggest problem is that I have to wait a second or two for each of the new windows to load after steps 2 and 3. Plus, that seems like a lot of steps to do something so simple and integral to the online experience.

I believe this should all be simpler and faster.

I suggest removing the "Friends" tile and replacing it with a simple list of your friends (like what is currently available inside the friends tile).


Additionally, since the "Y" button does not seem to be used in the dashboard for anything, I would make it so that pressing the "Y" button while highlighting a friend's gamertag would offer you a way to quickly send party and/or game invites, or
join a friend's party and/or game. Also, double-tapping "Y" could bring up a similar prompt for sending a text or voice message to that friend (and you should be able to create voice messages with the headset - for those of us without a Kinect).

Pressing "A" while a friend's name is highlighted could bring up the same screen as it does now, but the "Y" button would be an extra option to more quickly send an invite or message (or join a friend) without having to wait while the xbox loads up your
activity feed (and everything else in the friends tiles) every time you want to party up.

So, with my suggested changes to the dashboard, the steps involved in sending a message or invite (or joining a friend) would include:

1. Scroll to the Friend's tab (which is now just a list of your friends, right on the dashboard) and highlight your friend's gamertag

2. Tap "Y" and choose whether to send a game (and/) or party invite

That's all. No loading. No extra steps.

Thats odd, option is there on PS4 you have and I dont remember the exact verbage but Option 1 "Anyone" 2 "Friends Only" 3 "Invite Only" 4 "Closed" That not the 4 options for you in there? Anyone makes it public if you have that option it allows someone to right click your name and join fireteam without an invite and the invite option allows you to invite anyone even if they arent on your friends list but with that option friends need invites as well they cant just join you I set it to anyone so I can invite randoms or they can join me or friends can join me.

You can join a public crew from the multiplayer menu where you can also establish your own. If it's someone on your friends list or a friend in someone elses crew you want to join, you'll need to ask for an invite.

Furthermore, that "Popular With Friends" area next to the Friends Tile does not need to exist. If I want to know what my friend's are playing I can always ask them. That space should be used for something useful, or not at all. If they want to add a list
of games my friends have played recently then it should be placed inside of the window for that friend's gamertag, which could still be accessed by pressing "A" while the gamertag is highlighted in the Friend's List (just as it is now, but with one less loading
screen between it and the main dashboard because the Friends List would now be right on the main dashboard - not hidden behind the Friends Tile).

Also, I would like a setting for manual adjustment of the Xbox button's light. Sometimes it is too bright in a dark room, and it would be nice to have some way to dim it.
