    Suggested Changes to the Queue Inside of 'My Games and Apps'


    The download queue is an essential part of the Xbox's OS, after all, it is the only way to download any games or apps onto the console. But it lacks some features that I would consider necessary which makes the queue seem like a very slow and inefficient way to download games and apps. Here are some features that I, and most likely everyone else, would like to see in the My Games and Apps Queue.

    Seperate the Queue

    Seperate the queue into three different lists of items, 'Installing', 'Queued' and 'Paused'. This change would make it easier to implement some of the features further in this list, as well as making it clearer to the user exactly what their games and apps are doing in the queue.

    Reorder the Queue

    Add some controls to make it easy to change the order of items in the queue. Adding buttons like 'Send to top of queue' and the ability to drag and drop items in the queue into the desired position would mean that users could very easily manage which games and apps will install in which order.

    As well, could we have options like 'Order by size' in the queue so that smaller items will install before larger ones? This would mean that smaller items could install rapidly back-to-back and leave the larger items later in the queue.

    Select Multiple Items in the Queue

    The option to select multiple items in the queue and perform actions such as 'Send selected items to top of queue' or 'Pause all selected items' would make managing the queue far easier.

    Prioritise Downloads / Limit Bandwidth

    Add a switch that lets us quickly choose whether to prioritise game/app downloads over the currently playing game straight from the Xbox guide or inside the queue. I would like to be able to allocate all of my bandwidth to downloading items in the queue while I'm playing an offline game, and allocate less when I'm playing an online multiplayer game.

    Bug Fixes

    • 'Pause all' and 'Resume all' not working
    • Not being able to pause items that are queued
    • Games not showing their download size until the download actually starts

    Sorry to hear it. We'll need to know more information on this. Are you installing to the internal or external drive? Are you in the Xbox Insiders Program? If you go to My Games & Apps>Queue>Manage Storage can you see your storage devices?

    Thank you for these suggestions.

    Attempted:

    1.

    Suggested action: have you tried signing out of being an Insider / unlinking from the program?

    Result: I did this and no change

    2. after 1

    Suggested action: Perhaps remove the Insider app?

    Result: No change

    3. After 2

    Suggested action: Sign out of your account and sign in with a new account that does not have Insider/etc?

    Result: No Change

    4.

    Suggested action: Remove your account and try with a new account?

    Action performed: I added an old 360 account with no link to insider program

    Result: no change

    NOTE: I did not remove my main account as I do not want to risk loosing game saves etc.

    I did not attempt either factory reset:

    1. I do not want to risk loosing games saves for my account

    2. I do not want to risk loosing localized games saves of family members & friend accounts

    3. I do not want to go through the difficulty of getting family and friend accounts to smoothly log in on this system. Have spend much time in past when some system update forces new logins, this ends the energy of locally playing with friends when they
    have limited time to visit.

    As I have found a "functional" work around to manage and access my various games and apps (disconnect internet access, use groups, and use iPhone app to manage games). I will wait to attempt suggestion #4 and system reset.

    If anyone can help me to understand the risk level of loosing game saves, please let me know. If I am in error having this concern, I will move forward with suggestion #4 and perhaps the full machine reset.

    Games and apps queue

    This is the first game update that ive had in the last few days and it was for PUBG and as I done what you had asked a couple of days ago I was hoping to find it in the queue.

    Alas this was not the case but again I had to refresh the page with both triggers and y to get it to show up in the queue.

    Im assuming that somthin in the last system update is causing this and I hope they set a fix out for it because it was working before the last update.

    Thanks for the suggestion though.
