Suddenly can't connect to internet

UNABLE TO ACCESS XBOX LIVE.

Suddenly tonight I can't run anything requiring xbox live. I'm prompted to check my connection. When I check my connection via the connection test in network settings everything is fine. The console connects to my router, to the internet and to xbox live
just fine. What gives?

Well, one month later and the exact same thing has happened again. XBox worked perfectly fine for a month, no problems with Live, then I turn it on today, suddenly I have a connection problem and it can't connect to the internet. The exact same error message,
the exact same problem in the exact same part of the connection test. Nothing has changed today as compared to yesterday, when it worked. I didn't suddenly change all my internet settings. I didn't suddenly change my router settings to not allow my XBox to
use the wifi. What is going on? If you want detail for what error message I get and what I've tried, look at the first post, because it's exactly the same thing now.

I have the same problem. LIVE has been working perfectly for a long time, and suddenly I can't connect.

No problems accessing the internet with everything else in the house, just my Xbox, both wired and wireless.

During the test, it connects to the network, then the internet but not XBOXLIVE.

So I did all the steps over and over and over again, and NOTHING helps.

Something fishy is going on here.

What the restore did was reset the default network settings to normal so that everything would be set automatically on your console. There was most likely some kind of mismatch between the router and the Xbox, but now that everything is automatic, it works
fine.

Also, setting a Static IP is just an IP Address that does not change on its own. It requires getting into your router's settings and most everything would be there already, set to Dynamic. For most things a static IP is not needed.
