Suddenly can't connect to Internet on 360

My internet is working fine and I connected to Xbox Live, then my kid turned off my Xbox. When I turned it back on, no internet, can't get it since. I reset everything aside from the modem itself but the internet is working on all other devices, so I doubt
resetting the modem would make a difference.

Need help with Adapter and connecting to live!

My adapter has suddenly begun to blink green and i can not connect to the internet. I can connect to my network but i can't connect to live. I tested a wired connection and i can get on live just not on my wifi! Please help!

 

Xbox 360 Slim not connecting to xbox live-live error code-

I have the same issue. Suddenly I was disconnected from Live and I could never connect anymore. The XBOX 360 can connect to the router, but cannot access to internet. I tried with another WiFi but it's the same.

 

Other information:

Console is connected via ethernet to a Netgear Nighthawk R7000 which is connected via gigabit to a switch which connects via gigabit to the IP Fire box, which connects via gigabit to the modem.

I verified that a PS4 connected via ethernet to the R7000 is connecting to the internet as well. I tried resetting networking to factory on my 360 and tried connecting wirelessly to the R7000 instead and got the same error.

May I ask, is your ZyXEL C1000Z operating in bridge mode, or router/NAT mode?

If it's possible, can you try connect your Xbox directly in to the ZyXEL C1000Z, and verify if you can connect properly to Live, or not.

The modem is in bridge mode. There really is no feesible way to connect my 360 directly to it. I tried disabling Squid and Guardian, disabling my proxy, manually setting up port forwarding on TCP/UDP 3074 and UDP 88. I've checked all my firewall logs
to see if something is being blocked but nothing shows up for my 360's IP at all. It does not appear to be getting blocked by my firewall.

Edit: I also tried bypassing the R7000 to connect directly to the firewall via the switch and it did not help.

 

And you are certain that your modem is still operating in bridge mode?

Do you have the NAT checkbox checked on your firewall?

If it's not an option to directly connect your console to your modem, what about if you'd try to bypass your firewall, and terminate your router into your modem?

 

This appears to be an issue between the Xbox 360 and linux's miniupnpd. If I disable uPnP, the 360 connects to the internet and live, if I enable it, it won't. IP Fire is using miniupnpd version 1.8.1

 

It's an issue for any device on your network that needs to traverse to the internet at large and are being mapped twice through lagers of NAT, were some devices are more sensetive to this setup. You should only allow one of your networking devices to handle
mapped rules

 

There is only one device doing any NAT, and it is the IP Fire box.

 

This seems to be a bug. If I go into System Settings, Storage, highlight the HDD and hit X, LB, RB, X, LB, RB, X it asks if I want to delete the update data. If I do that, the Xbox 360 reboots and asks to connect and download the latest update. I let
it do that (and it works fine) then it'll reboot again and connect to Xbox Live again fine... for a while. Then it goes right back to failing and I have to repeat the process all over again.

 

Confirmed with an agent on the phone today that this is most likely a software issue. There's a temporary workaround that involves deleting the System Update data and reinstalling it.

Go to System Settings

Storage

Highlight the HDD

hit X, LB, RB, X, LB, RB, X

Delete the Update Data

Xbox will reset and says I need to download an update to sign in

Download the Update, the Xbox will reboot

I can log in again, but when I log out, I have to do the workaround again to sign back in.

 

So your Netgear R7000 is then operating as a wireless Access Point without router/NAT involved?

 

Yes, the R7000 is in AP mode which disables all NAT. Bypassing it doesn't resolve the issue anyway, so it had been eliminated as a possible cause already.

The fact that deleting and reinstalling the update allows me to connect is pretty solid proof that this is a software issue and not a network configuration one. Nothing about my network configuration changes when the Xbox goes from connecting without issue
to claiming it has no internet access. It works until I sign out and then it doesn't. Then, when I repeat the process, it works again.

It is 100% repeatable with my setup, which is indicative of either a corrupt system file or a bug in the Xbox 360's uPnP code that only shows up with particular implementations of uPnP (mine is miniupnpd 1.8.1)

 

I had the same problem once with a zyxel modem, but it always was impossible for my 360 to connect to it

The only thing that resolved the issue was getting a new modem
