    Hi there,

    so I hadn't turned on my 360 in a while and was faced with the - 'there are software updates' message. I click yes and it starts to download something. I come back a while later and I think the console had rebooted and then asked me to download another update.
    I clicked yes and it started downloading. It took a while, but when it got half way through it kept saying that there was an error. I tried a few times but it kept cancelling part way through...

    Anyway... now after rebooting I can no longer connect to the internet - either through wifi or cable. It recognises the wifi but won't connect to the internet. I can only imagine it had something to do with the software update.

    Would anybody have any suggestions?

    PS: I really am pretty clueless when it comes to modem/router configuring :-s

    Won't let me connect to live.

    I have the same problem. LIVE has been working perfectly for a long time, and suddenly I can't connect.

    No problems accessing the internet with everything else in the house, just my Xbox, both wired and wireless.

    During the test, it connects to the network, then the internet but not XBOXLIVE.

    So I did all the steps over and over and over again, and NOTHING helps.

    Something fishy is going on here.

    I haven't turned on my Xbox 360 in probably a week or so, and the last time I used it, I had no connection problems whatsoever. I definitely haven't changed any of the settings. The internet still works on my phone and my laptop and my desktop, so there's
    nothing wrong with the router or anything, but suddenly my Xbox will not connect to the internet. It sees the network and connects to that, but gives me an "internet error" every time it tries to connect to the internet. I followed the Support guides, but
    nothing has helped so far.

    PLEASE HELP!!!

    What Country/State/Province do you live in? USA, Massachusetts

    Modem brand & model number: Touchstone Telephony Modem (not sure what model number--came from Comcast)

    Router brand & model number: Luxul XV4400

    How many consoles do you have connected to this router? 2

    Wired or wireless (for each console): Xbox 360 (wireless), Wii (wireless)

    Is UPnP Enabled? no

    Do you have a NAT error? no

    Any Error Codes you encounter: "Internet Error"

    Who is your ISP(Internet Service Provider)? Comcast/Xfinity

    After you run "Test Xbox LIVE connection" press “Y” for "More Info”. In the pop-up that appears, what are the following values, if shown? (If a value below does not appear for you, just leave it blank.)

    W:0000 - 0021

    X:0000 - F001

    Y:0000 - 0000

    Z:0000 - 0000

    ID: 0004 - 0001

    L: 0015-10F1

    Q: 8007-0435

    T: Wireless

    A: 192.168.0.107/255.255.255.0

    G: 192.168.0.1

    D: 192.168.0.1, 0.0.0.0

    Hey there nickholl Suddenly can no longer connect to the internet :( :)



    There has recently just been a service alert that may have been the cause of this problem, it appears to be resolved now so lets clear your cache and see if it lets you connect. Please go to your console and perform these steps :



    1. Press the guide button on your controller.
    2. Scroll to the 'settings' tab and select 'system settings'.
    3. Select 'storage'.
    4. Highlight your storage device and press 'Y'.
    5. It will ask you if you want to clear system cache, please do this.


    Once that is complete, please restart your console and try to connect to Xbox LIVE.

    Just tried what you suggested and unfortunately it didn't make any difference Suddenly can no longer connect to the internet :( :(

    It's not actually connecting to the router when I test the connection. And it's not even connecting through the Ethernet either! I' had no problems at all previous to the update Suddenly can no longer connect to the internet :( :((

    Are you getting a specific error code? If so, please look it up at the 'Error Code Lookup' tab under Support in the navigation bar. If not, does it display any info about the error at all? Please post any of this.

    It just says. Test failed there's a problem with your connection... When I click more info it says

    IP address error, and tells me to restart my router, which I've done many times. Other suggestions include changing to static Ip which have no idea how to do.

    I don't know why I'd have to change any settings as it worked perfectly well before

    Will try via wifi as well.

    This clear system cache trick worked like a charm. I had been not able to get onto live for several days now, since the last system update, and now I'm back in action. Thanks a lot Cloud!

    What the restore did was reset the default network settings to normal so that everything would be set automatically on your console. There was most likely some kind of mismatch between the router and the Xbox, but now that everything is automatic, it works
    fine.

    Also, setting a Static IP is just an IP Address that does not change on its own. It requires getting into your router's settings and most everything would be there already, set to Dynamic. For most things a static IP is not needed.

    @ArceusMI - He/she is not referring to a static IP as the IP address assigned by this persons ISP, but a NAT'd address.
