You will need to log in with your gamertag in order to access the features online. If the service will not allow you to log in with the gmail account you should look into changing it to a hotmail account for easy access.

I always listen to the games I am playing, if I want to watch TV I watch TV, if I want to listen to music I listen to music, but I do have the TV on in the background whilst surfing the web...

You can listen to music via a web browser - music.xbox.com -- works fine.

The fine print says

I see no transactions occurring for my 1-month trial. What I do see is shown below:-

When I did not receive my 3 months pass, I cancelled the auto-renew feature before I was charged.
