    So about a week or so ago i canceled my game pass ultimate subscription cause i did not need the game pass aspect and just needed gold but when i go to set my status to offline or online it says that my game pass expires in a certain amount of time and
    i don't understand the subscription is cancelled so what is this is it a glitch or what?

    If you log into account.microsoft.com and go to the services and subscriptions page do you see it listed there and confirm that it is expired.

    Cancelling your subscription won't end it immediately. It will end when you finished the rest of your month. You may even be able to get a refund for that month though if you check out the game pass page.
