    Subscription family group help.

    Hello,

When we set up our Xbox my son was young, he is now in his teens and would like to leave the family group. I am 100% okay with that, but the question I have is....

If I remove him from the family group can he still use the online subscription he has since it was bought while in a family group. If not what can I do?

Can I make him the Organizer so he can still use the monthly subscription?

    Any help would be great.

    :)

Yes he would. He would only lose access if he uses another console or you change your Home console.

    Thanks for this info.

Just to make sure I totally understand (not very familiar with using the Xbox).

I am the Organizer. If I removed myself from the console would he still have access to the subscription?

As long as he is using the Home console for the account that has the subscription he will have access to it. That's not tied to the family setting.

My son has an Xbox and my daughter has a laptop. Can they both use the ultimate game pass? If so, how?

    Hi Barry!

Thanks for reaching Microsoft Community. We're here to help and let's work on this together.

Yes, your son and daughter can both use the same Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription. The subscription allows for up to six family members to access the games and benefits included in the subscription.

To set this up, you will need to create a Microsoft family group and add both your son and daughter to the group. Once they are added, you can share the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription with the family group.

To share the subscription, sign in to your Microsoft account and go to the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate page. From there, select "Manage" and then "Share to a family member." Choose the family member you want to share with and follow the prompts to complete the process.

Your son and daughter will then be able to access the games and benefits included in the subscription on their respective devices.

Please let us know how it goes.

    Greetings,

    RodelioP.

Activate free month of Game Pass for PC on Child Account

    Hi MrsKetchup123,

I'm sorry to hear you are having trouble setting up the free trial month of Game Pass for PC on your child's account. Have they had Game Pass for PC in the past on their account, or is this the first time?

Are they part of a family group with your account? You can visit family.microsoft.com to manage family members’ Microsoft accounts and learn more about Family Safety features.

Additionally, you can Add someone to your family group in the Xbox Family Settings app. The Xbox Family Settings app is a simple and convenient way to manage the members who are in your family group. Family organizers are the administrators of a family group. They can add and remove members, manage limits and permissions, and view activity reporting details. Organizers can also share activity information about family members under statutory age.

To update the payment option for a child account's Xbox subscription, sign in by using the Microsoft email and password of the child account, not the adult account, and then follow the steps below.

If you want to update a payment option for the child's Microsoft account that’s not tied to an Xbox subscription, see:

Update your billing address and payment options

To prevent unauthorized purchases by a child in your family group, see:

Prevent unauthorized purchases on Xbox consoles

Update the way you pay online

Sign in to your Microsoft account to change the way that you pay for your subscription.

    Sign in to Microsoft account

If you want to use a subscription code instead of a renewing subscription, you can redeem a code or gift card. You’ll need to cancel your current subscription and then turn off recurring billing to avoid any renewal fees.

Redeem your code or gift card

Note that if your subscription is past due, you’ll need to settle the past-due balance before redeeming your code or gift card. To learn more info about account balances, see:

Why was the payment for my Xbox subscription declined?

Let me know if any of these solutions helped.
