    Hello,

    Earlier today I realised that I did not have the money to renew my Xbox live subscription, so I cancelled the subscription. However, I have just received an email saying that the renewal was unsuccessful. I can't pay the subscription fee which is why I cancelled
    it.

    Asked for my pre-order to be cancelled and yet still it wasn't cancelled and now the payment has been made. Request for this to be refunded.

    Is it normal for Microsoft to take payment from an auto renewal option from an expired credit card?

    I have now cancelled the auto renewal but have still paid a years subscription until 2016.

    Hello, as a subscription, you need to add a permanent payment method to be debited each month. Even if you cancel the automatic renewal of this subscription, you will be asked to add a payment method.

    You cancelled the subscription or turned off auto renew? If you cancel a subscription, it immediately cancels it, and takes away game pass. If you turn off auto renew, then that cancels the next payment, and you still have access until the end of the subscription.

    Contact your Bank and ask then to cancel the direct debit ,that way it will stop any payments coming out of your account and it should end the subscription .
