If maps are bigger, sniper rifle quality can be toned down but still be effective thanks to there actually be sniper distance between the sniper and other guns.

^^We have them now with QSer's pretty much, imagine if everyone else starts sniping too!

They'll be coming in the map packs. Above all else, CoD has become a marketing superpower. I have no doubt that they're working it down to a science to sell the most product. Release a game that millions will buy... only have small to mid size maps...
when the community gripes about no big maps, along comes the first map pack featuring a lot of maps with plenty of real estate to work with. Watch it happen.

I go back to what I've been saying since day 1: IMHO, the vast majority of the complaining about this game is from the campers & killwhores who are having trouble adjusting to a game that rewards a more aggressive, objective oriented playstyle. They're complaining
because what worked in cods past, does not work in BO2. For the 1st time in cod's history, the game severely rewards those who actively play the objective & doesn't do a damn thing for those who ignore it -- which seems to be most cod players. And, given the
level of selfishness of the average cod player, this is apparently a probelm that has led to incessant whining.

[/quote]I am always an objective, aggressive player. That's why I play competitively, so I don't have teammates that just camp in one spot all game. That doesn't change the fact that you can't do well because you are consistently getting shot from another
angle as soon as you fire. When a person only has two ways to look, it's not hard to find someone. If I fire on a map in Black Ops 2, there will be someone behind me who will pop out and shoot me before I can turn around. If I do the same on Black Ops,
that won't be the case. Take Villa, for instance. If I fire at someone on the balcony from somewhere in the fountain area, I won't instantly die from someone else because they will have to take a moment to find me rather than just look down that single pathway.
The maps now act as a funnel, channeling all movement to a small range of space. Therefore, a player in a given position doesn't have to do much to know where an enemy is / will be. This, combined with sometimes problematic spawns and lag compensation that
creates inconsistent games where one person can eat 10 bullets and the next dies instantly around a corner, makes for a very inconsistent game in which nobody can do well on their own accord. The only true form of "skill" I've seen in this game up to now
is whether a team can consistently win games thanks to proper tactics--and even then, the execution doesn't always work thanks to the game's inconsistencies.

I still thoroughly enjoy the game, but the mechanics are more akin to MW3 than previous Call of Duty games, which is bad for the competitive aspect of the game, and again the maps are not up to par for a competitive shooter. The maps aren't a huge issue,
and I think the game can still be good for competitions even with these maps, but they do present somewhat of a problem. I seriously, seriously miss the days when Black Ops was the primary game people played. Nowadays I can't even get into a single Barebones
Competitive match on that game.

Like I said I'm still enjoying this game and think it has promise, but playing this just leaves something to be desired that CoD2, CoD4, MW2, and Black Ops did not.

Random though: Does anyone miss the map Invasion from MW2? I think that was a highly, highly underappreciated map. That map did alleyways right--they were there but they were wide enough that it wasn't an issue. Black Ops 2 maps look like toy models
compared to Invasion and other similar maps haha.
