Stuttering video using Hauppauge TV tuner on XBOX Once

I'm using a Hauppauge TV tuner for XBOX One. I have four TV's in the house, all of which get great reception (except for the XBOX). The stations I'm having issues with are 15, 17 and 35. All of the stations get a signal strength between 80-90% when measuring
with another TV tuner. These stations randomly have stuttery and jittery audio and video.

Trouble shooting. I hooked up the TV tuner to my Windows 7 PC, and all stations come in crystal clear.

I hooked up another television to the same coax that is going to the XBOX and that television got perfect reception

I hooked up the TV tuner to a different XBOX and the same stuttering occurred.

I hooked up a different Hauppauge TV tuner to the XBOX and the same stuttering occurred.

The issue seems to pertain to the signal strength. But why is it that the TV tuner operations perfectly with a PC rather than the XBOX. I would love any suggestions.

It would be nice to be able to plug in a usb ota hdtv tuner into the xbox one and use that for people who ony have internet and don't subscribe to a tv package. something like.

I have used every search combination on YouTube that I can think of and have found nothing regarding using a Hauppauge tv tuner stick on an xbox one.. NBS. Any suggestions?

 

Having the same issue. Every 5-7 minutes no matter what station I'm on the signal gets all stuttery. It becomes clear if I change channels and go back to what I was watching. Super annoying!

 

I am having the same issue but just with Fox. Works perfect if I am plugged in normal to the TV. Xbox has my picture and sound stuttering about every 30 seconds.

 

I don't think it's signal strength.

Ever since NXOE launched, mine has done this as well. Not all channels. Some are worse than others. 5.1 ABC in Cleveland is terrible during college football this past Saturday. 3 other devices work fine (2 TV's and 1 PC) plugged in directly to my antenna.

If I Pause the live feed for 10-15 seconds, it is perfectly fine.

 

I have the same issue, in the Cleveland area. Fox is really bad, and ABC. But, this occurs on all of the channels. Everything was fine before the update, now it's all stutter/jittery. I've tried everything I can think of to correct it, with no luck.
As mentioned, pausing usually helps, but not always.

 

I've replaced the Hauppauge tuner with a $49.99 Tivo Roamio OTA. you don't need a tivo subscription as the xbox one controls the tivo. there is a slight delay when changing channels, but it works great, I get all of the guide info with the one guide, hopefully
we can DVR soon

 

You purchasing a separate device does not fix mine or other peoples problems.

 

As I got no help from Hauppauge, Microsoft or any Forum, I gave up on the glitchy device and moved to a tuner that works incredibly well with no loss of function, I believe it is a fix. I'm currently watching a TV on station that the Hauppauge tuner would
never play without stuttering. The Tivo is cheaper, and has a much better tuner then most HDTV converter boxes. I now have all of my local stations, and the one guide and they all get great reception. My advice is to move on from the Hauppauge device. POS

 

It worked fine before the NXOE AND it works perfectly fine on my PC.

The Hauppauge tuner is compatible with the PC. If you plug it into your PC there is no stuttering.

Since it worked perfectly before the NXOE and perfectly on the PC, it is NOT the Hauppauge tuner.

They changed something with the NXOE. That is all. The tuner is NOT a POS.

 

I can't confirm that it worked properly before the update because I bought mine after the update. This unit was suppose to be compatible with XBox one, and it is not. There are playback problems. I've spent countless hours tweaking and replacing antennas
on my roof to make the playback better using the hauppauge tuner, and nothing made it improve. Maybe this stuttering problem did occur after the NXOE update. If that's the case the manufacturer better take accountability and work to solve this issue with
Microsoft or stop selling it as a compatible product of it doesn't function correctly. This tuner is of no use to me whether it's the fault of Hauppague, Microsoft or both. If I buy something as advertised I expect it to work out of a box, and not spend time
troubleshooting and typing on a forum.

 

It's not just the Hauppauge TV tuner. Live TV piped in through the HDMI input is stuttery too. A hard restart fixes it. Super annoying though.

 

I totally agree with you. This should work out of the box. It needs to be fixed.

The HDMI passthrough stutter might be a separate issue because it has been a problem prior to the NXOE, and a hard restart fixes it while a hard restart does not fix the OTA Tuner.

 

Same problem here, only just got my Xbox so don't know if it was ok before. Seems to be just on Fox for me too.... Weirdly it only seems to happen running full screen - fine when running in a window, so I'm guessing it's a performance/optimization issue
with scaling to 1080p from the native input of 720p.
