Hello and thanks for taking the time to read.

I've never encountered this problem with my Xbox before. I've had to hard reset and factory reset many times in the past, but I don't think this issue can be fixed by a factory reset. Keep in mind that this is a Day One console.

I was playing Final Fantasy XV today and after a few hours the sound stopped playing and the game became unresponsive until it eventually froze. This happened over the course of about a minute. The Xbox itself seemed to be fine, although it was a bit hot.
The home menu worked fine and I could use apps. I figured that I should hard reset the console so I held the power button until it turned off and left it to rest for 2 hours.

Eventually I powered it up again with no problems and began to play Final Fantasy. Only this time the previous issue happened again within 10 minutes. Once the game froze I quit out of it and waited a few minutes. I wanted to make sure it wasn't simply an
issue with Final Fantasy so I booted up Dark Souls III. The issue happened again after about 10 minutes. So now I'm trying to figure out exactly what the problem is.

Suggestions? Advice? Thank you in advance.

    :)

Stuttering and sometimes crashing. Possibly overheating?

Hello Wise Multishine, I took the time to read and nothing can be more demoralizing than posting a problem - on the "official" Xbox forums, no less - and watching the clock tick by as NOBODY bats an eyelid. Sadly, since they rebuilt the forums, it does seem
like a lost cause. However, I will make a courtesy response and hope that somebody else picks up the baton - if they've anything to add Stuttering and sometimes crashing. Possibly overheating? ;)

A Day 1 console you say? Wow, how many years has it been? It's a fact of life that all hardware breaks down, slows down or gives up the ghost eventually. If you're a core user and your Day 1 console has been in constant servitude, does it not make sense
that what you're experiencing is the gradual decline of its internals? When games start locking up, and hard resets no longer work, I think it's safe to assume that it's time to consider a replacement. Perhaps I'm biased, but comparing a Day 1 console to the
modern alternative (Xbox One S), and there's really only one solution to your problem. It's that time of the season, so why not ask Santa for a new console? Happy holidays!

    Xbox one crashing

Tried the unplugging. Booted up fine, and then back to the usual crashing. Possible overheating issue?

    Xbox One X constant overheating

Forgot to mention that it sometimes crashes during specific points in a game. There was this cutscene in Dragon Ball Kakarot that always used to cause my Xbox to crash due to overheating. I got around it by skipping this one cutscene as soon as it started.

My Xbox One X randomly turns off

    Hi RaidedHearts,

This could possibly be a number of things, from a lack of ventilation, to overheating, to the game causing the crash, to even being on the insider hub and being on an update that may not be 100% stable yet.

Does it crash or turn off for any other games? or just Borderlands 3?
