    disc drive?

Hello, have an issue I am hoping to get some. Advice/solve.

Have my XB1X but the darnedest thing is happening with discs

Some discs refuse to be seen, for example every Xbox one discs works fine, no issues and boot/spin etc etc.

Seem to have issues with 360 discs, for example GTA 4, put disc in an nothing happens ( GTA 4 is backwards compatible) yet put another 360 disc( MGS Rising) and and spins/boots cleanly.

Put my MGS HD disc(again backwards compatible) and nothing again happens again put another disc in (ME3 again backwards compatible) and spins/boots cleanly.

Now if no disc would spin/boot I would suspect an issues with the disc drive but as this seems to be selective, I have no idea.

All discs are clean and no scratches btw.

Dug my old OG Xbox 1 out and tried the discs that would not work in the XBox1X and they are seen straight away and currently installing on the OG XB1.

Still unsure as the why they are not being seen in the XBOX1X ( again see orig post as seems to be selective)

Now if i file transfer between the XB1 and the XBox1X the games that refuse to be seen in the 1X, think that would work as a potential bypass? My initial reaction is no.

Tried hard and soft resets, clearing cache, having the console at different inclinations, the hotspot method, tried clearing the disc in the blue ray menu as mentioned in another post.

    Any ideas/solutions?

    :)

Oh, I see. If this is the case, this means the issue is on the disc drive of the console and you'll be needing to process a repair for it.

Just went a borrowed a DVD from a friend ( I own no dvds anymore lol). That would not been seen either.

So I guess it is the DVD lens up the swanny then?

Would not be so bad as most of the old 360 titles I have digitally anyway just a select few I kept hold of( MGS HD collection, konami need to pull their finger out and get MGS HD back purchasable digitally)

Guess I will have to either look at a lens repair( anyone have any idea cost ££?) Or save for a series X.

could be the red laser being picky (all 360 discs are dvd, xbox one are blue ray which uses blue diode)

do you have any issues playing normal dvd movie discs (if you have any)
