Stuck trying to update, always fails giving error code - can't get out of this loop

Will give that a go. Also had a thought that as the xbox wasn't connected to the internet during the update there would be no way of it getting a banned list from microsoft, so how could it have checked it was banned. Assumption is it couldn't and there's
another underlying problem. Hope there's not a problem with the hardware, although it is rather long in the tooth now. Before I put the game in and it asked me to update it had booted up correctly to the xbox menu, so seems something software related.

 

Should I be holding the sync button down, letting go, then holding down again?

 

Keep it held, I doubt it will work but it is another way of clearing a failed update. Just clutching at straws for you I suspect.

 

When updating from a game disc you will need to complete the update using the same game disc so that may be worth trying. Boot the xbox up with the game disc in the drive.

I tried everything like downloading update from xbox and put it in pen drive it didnt work

tried Cd it didnt work

no idea what to do

 

No luck with trying with game in the cd I'm afraid, just get the same result

 

No luck, contacted support via chat and they couldn't update. Out of warranty and would have had to go to a 3rd party repair centre.

PMd the mods after suggestion from Support but they did not respond.

Convinced it's something to do with the DVD player, so tried a new pair of leads with no luck. Was going to try a replacement DVD drive but saw a reconditioned console at Game for £40 with 12 month warranty so went for that instead. Just set up and can't
wait to see little ones face tomorrow as I finally have his game working!
