Well only real advantage of the XO4, X07, is you only need to plug them into the adapter and you will get wireless stereo and chat just by plugging into the controller so you only have one cable.

Specification wise doesn't seem all that much better than the your XL1

    XL1 Speaker specifications.

    • 50mm diameter speakers with neodymium magnets

    • Speaker Frequency Response: 20Hz - 20kHz, >120dB SPL @ 1kHz

    XO Four Speaker Specifications

    - Speaker diameter: 50 mm "High-Performance" <- Merketing Neodymium Speaker Drivers

    - Speaker frequency response: 20 Hz — 20 kHz

    XO Seven Speaker Specifications

    - Speaker diameter: 50 mm "Premium" <- Merketing Neodymium Speaker Drivers

    - Speaker frequency response: 20 Hz — 20 kHz

Titan Fall headset differentiates itself from the others mostly because it includes everything your need to connect to the 360, 360E, Xbox One, and PC via USB Also the padding looks like velour/felt instead of the Pleather on the XO Sevens and whatever material
it is their using on the XO Four. Build wise they look like custom painted XO Fours without the heavily padded bridge.

Speaker Specifications are the same though.

    - Speaker diameter: 50 mm

    - Speaker frequency response: 20 Hz — 20 kHz

My advice is since your going to just get stereo with any of them and the speakers are probably all identical just buy the chat adapter. Would used the money saved and look for a headset that supports Dolby Surround since the March update is bringing back
Dolby Digital via optical. This will make the games sound a lot better compared to just stereo and is compatible with 360, PS3, PS4, Xbox One, and any decent PC sound card has optical out.

Another option is the MS stereo headset for $80 that includes a stereo headset with mic and the adapter which is basically like the XO Four and XO Seven while being a lot cheaper. Would check around for some reviews on the MS stereo headset if your really
just want wireless stereo right from your controller.

With the adapter you will be able to use any headset that has 1 3.5 jack that has the 3 rings on it (mic, left and right channels).

Just to make you aware the XO4 is only stereo sound according to the TB website.

You can get Dolby for the same or less money according to the TB web site although I am not sure all the info is correct, since they have DPX21 in the xbox one section which offers 7.1 SS but when you click on the product details it doesn't mention XO in
the compatability, but clearly shows when you filter for XO.

Adding on to Smiling Cat if you wanted surround sound in the future and don't mind virtual surround sound then you could get the DSS2 and use it with your current headset.

I would say wait another six months if you can, by that time all the manufacturers will have had chance to get things sorted, and competition and deals will be more available.

After the march patch I think there will be a spert in headsets because of the dolby addition.

I have the x42s by turtle beach. Excellent headset that great sound. The bass in them is fantastic but not so boomy as to drown out the kids and highs. They are also really comfortable and have many long gaming session with them. I would highly recommend
these as a great surround sound headset. Although like it has already been stated, you will have to wait for the march update for dolby to work and you will have to get the headset adapter for chat but all round a great headset.

Does anybody know if they will bring out surround sound headsets that plug into the controller, so no need for the extra cable to the Xbox ? I am assuming the bandwidth is there as its using its own WiFi channel (the network connection is separate)

^ I am pretty sure they will, if you don't want to wait you can always invest in a pair of wireless turtle beaches for the 360 then just buy the adapter.

  11. I have had TB DX11's and DX12's. I bought some Astro A50's about 3 months ago. They are head and shoulders better than any of my TB's. They are wireless of course, but I have never had any dropouts, cracking, popping or anything. They have worked flawlessly.
I wouldn't say sound is a night and day difference, but the build quality and feel is definitely a night and day difference.

It's such a minefield, do the Astro's use usb to power them, or the controller ? Is that the main difference from 360 headsets to Xbox One? Off to do more research Stuck on what headset to get for xbox one :/ :)

  14. @MessiahBrowny - X42s are very easy to set-up. Plug transmitter box into USB port and the optical wire into the Xbox One. That's it. No wires coming from the headset so nice and neat. Then just buy the adapter for chat capabilities.

Do the xo7 only work with the xbx? I currently have x12 that I also like to use to watch TV at night. I want to go wireless but it looks like these only work plugged into the controller. I guess I should wait I may eventually grab a ps4 for exclusives and
would like a headset that works for everything.
