Stuck on the troubleshooting screen (Xbox one X console)

MY Xbox one X console failed to updated and forced me into the troubleshooter screen where I have tried all the options from the offline update which just gets me a something went wrong message every time and resetting the console to factory setting just
restarts the console and puts me back onto the troubleshooter screen.

Do you have a Xbox One S or X, or do you have an original Xbox One with external power supply? If you have the original Xbox One, what color is the LED on the external power supply?

If you have run through the offline update solution below without success then usually your only option is to send the console in for repair via the xbox online service and warranty centre.
