    I am on xbox one console playing Minecraft, NOT the old xbox one version. I am stuck on Minecraft 1.12 because it shows no available update. It says I have the latest update but version 1.14 is the latest and mine says 1.12. I'm also having trouble with
    the Book and Quill not working. When I open the book, there isn't a done button and it doesn't sow the option to select a page so I can't use my lectern and book to control items because I can't select a page. I did load up my the old xbox one version of minecraft
    and the book works in that but not in the bedrock edition.

    Anyways, could somebody get back to me on how to fix this issue? It would be much appreciated.

    Hi there,

    the 1.12 version might still be the latest one, any newer then that is a Beta.

    The current beta version is 1.13.4.0 and from what I see in the store the Minecraft version is 1.12.

    The 1.14 you mention seem to be the Java edition, which is different from the versions on the console.

    Minecraft Winows 10 - Minecraft

    On July 9th 2019 they released an official update to Version 1.12 of Minecraft.

    Your friend would have to launch the Windows 10 store on his PC or go to the Update tab of "My Games & Apps" on the Xbox to force an update check of the game.

    After he also updated to 1.12, you can play together again.

    Unable to connect to world.

    Also make sure that you are both on the same update version. Currently it is 1.12 for bedrock.
