    Hi I don't get an error code it literally is stuck at 50% and nothing will happen. I'm scared to turn it off or anything as I know that can corrupt files so I really am stuck

    im also having this problem today my xbox one s has been getting stuck on the green screen of death and when it boots up the dash freezes all the time and my games have been crashing a lot so i have decided to factory reset it and now im stuck on 50% preparing
    console screen hour and a half i have been stuck on this screen

    Hi Ag268

    I'm sorry to hear that the Xbox is stuck on that preparing console screen.

    In occasions like this, even though it suggests not to power off the console, I would recommend for you to do a power cycle to the Xbox. (Power off the Xbox, unplug it for 30 seconds) and then once you power this back on it shall either continue the process
    or it could actually give us an exact error message. Since the Xbox shouldn't get stay on the same percentage for no longer than 2 hours.

    Offline Update Solution steps.

    Mine does the same thing I've done all the step nothing works.. I can't even select the offline update solution.

    This can be done by following these simple steps (https://support.xbox.com/en-US/contact-us#0:2:4):

    Sign in to Xbox.com

    Step 1: Scroll down and select Support at the bottom left under Xbox.
    Step 2: At the bottom of the page, click Contact Us.
    Step 3: Select Xbox One, then "View Other Options"
    Step 4: Select your problem
    Select - "Show contact options"
    Select - Request Support Call

    Thanks for coming to the forums. What troubleshooting have you tried so we don't give you anything you already tried. If you haven't tried the

    offline update    , that would be your next troubleshooting. If that doesn't work your console may be in need of repair.

    Check your network is up and running.

    You should power cycle your network hardware and wait until it's fully functional before turning your console back on.

    If you're using WiFi try a wired ethernet cable connection to your network hardware as you may be getting signal interference with WiFi.
