Stuck at accessibility settings on Fight Simulator 2020 (XBOX cloud gaming)

The workaround did not work for me. I've tried playing MSFS both on my iPad and on my Windows PC through Chrome and experience the same blocking behavior in both cases. Here's the flow:

1. I start the app. It starts the initial cinematic with the message "Press any button to begin" (or something like that).

2. I press the "A" button on my controller. It is recognized and proceeds to the next screen which is always the Accessibility Settings screen.

3. On that screen I see a mouse cursor even on my iPad which does not have a mouse connected. On my PC my mouse does not move the in-game mouse cursor at all, therefore I'm unable to click on anything with the mouse.

4. On the Accessibility screen I am unable to interact with the settings themselves or the "Continue" button via the controller. The screen will recognize if I press the "X" button to "Reset to defaults".

5. When I click "X" to "Reset to defaults" it pops up a confirmation window with the options "Cancel" and "Continue", with "Continue" being the default. I am unable to activate either of these buttons with the controller or the mouse. The only thing I can do at this point is press "B" on the controller which cancels out of the confirmation dialog and lands me right back at the non-interactive Accessibility screen.

I do also have MSFS installed locally on my PC. As per the suggestion above, I launched the game from there and it works fine and never opens the Accessibility screen. Just for good measure I opened the Accessibility settings screen while running locally and resaved the settings. After quitting the local version of the game and returning to the cloud version, I still experienced the exact same blocking behavior described above.

When you go to the accessibility settings screen, you don't have the option to set it to default or to leave the screen? Or your controller does not work on this screen?

Also, even though you are playing on the cloud, are you playing it through computer or console?

Besides the questions to learn more about your issue, the only fix (confirmed by the developers) for when you are stuck on a profile/settings/accessibility screen and your controller does not work on MSFS is to install it on your device (computer/console) and change the settings there. Then, you can start playing on the cloud again and you will not be directed to the profile/settings/accessibility screen.

A description of the root cause of this problem and how to fix it is available on the official Microsoft Flight Simulator forum. Turns out, if you've played MSFS on a PC or Xbox and changed the controller key bindings, then this can break the controller key bindings needed to be able to navigate menus in the Cloud Gaming version of MSFS.

There is a mouse cursor on the streamed screen. I assume there is a mouse input present which is why the gamepad is ignored.

The workaround worked! But it was more difficult than you suggested.

1 Make over 120 GB of space on my computer

2 Download the game (with the exceptional low downloading speeds of 7 mbit/s, it took a while (I have a 500 mbit/s connection))

4 start the game locally and go through the steps.

5 start playing via Xbox cloud.
