    Struggling to talk to friend over Xbox App party feature


    I am an Xbox One owner. My friend is a PC player who has just bought Gears of War: UE for Windows 10. He has also downloaded the Xbox App for his PC in the hope that we could talk to each other; him from his PC headset, me from my Xbox One headset. (We are
    aware that Gears UE is not cross-platform at this time).

    We have no problem joining the same party, but once we are both connected, we cannot hear one another. My Xbox registers that my headset is picking up sound, but my friend on the PC is adamant he cannot hear me when I am led to believe this should be possible.

    Can anyone shed any light on this? I understand that the Xbox App is still in its beta stage, and my friend is not an Xbox Live Gold member.

    wait so If my friends were playing would they have to have the windows app to talk to me or can I just talk to them in party on xbox

    yeah if your have the xbox one app your can use party beta and talk to your friends and other players on Xbox

    RESPECTFULLY REQUEST:

    Hi Unphasable,

    At the moment to talk to your friends in party chat, you can talk to friends on their Xbox App on their phone, Xbox or Xbox companion app on the pc.

    If you're referring to being able to type to your friends on discord, there is an app on xbox that allows you to use the discord service, but you're unable to use the Voice features yet.

    The application is called quarrel.

    Hopefully someday soon they will allow for another VOIP system other than just Xbox Parties.

    The Xbox app on Windows 10 is very different and separate from both the Games and SmartGlass apps in Windows 8. Although it incorporates many features from both, it also adds a lot more features such as Game DVR for PC games, the ability to stream games
    from your Xbox one console and you can set-up parties and talk to your friends on PC or Xbox One.

    When you are in the Xbox app on Windows 10, you will also show up as online to your friends on console.
