Struggling to connect to Xbox Live

According to Xbox page, this may mean that there's a problem with the Xbox Live service or that your Xbox Live account is failing to properly authenticate:

Let's try some steps to further isolate the issue. Kindly turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely. Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds and then plug the console power cable back in. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.

Connecting to live uses bandwidth.You are then connecting to the Destiny servers which also uses bandwidth.

1:6mbps is extremely slow & not a recommended speed for xbox live/online multiplayer.

5mbps is the minimum really & even with that you may struggle at times.
