Strongly Considering Xbox One... basic questions first...

Hi All!

Now that the price has dropped a bit, I am actually considering buying myself the Xbox One. That said, I do not intend to get rid of my 360, so,,,

Am I correct about the following?

1) My Xbox Live Gold Membership applies to both Xbox 360 and Xbox One simultaneously, yes? (We pay once and can utilize it for both systems, correct?)

2) Can the two Xbox versions be hooked up at the same time to one TV? Or can must each console be hooked to a different TV?

3) If you have been happy with your 360 Live Membership experience (overall), how does the One experience compare to your 360 experience?

If you could please reply to the above (especially question 1 and question 2, I'd be very thankful!

Xbox One S basic questions

Yes. Everything you have for the One will work with the One S. It's pretty much the same console just a little smaller and it supports 4K.

 

Yes your gold membership counts on both consoles.

Also you only need one gold account on the xbox one and all other accounts on it will automatically be gold.

Yes you can have both consoles connected to one TV, as long as you have enough HD sockets on it, or switch the leads over when you use each one.

Not sure why you would need both on at the same time though.

No, don't need them on at the same moment, merely wondering if it's possible to have both systems hooked up from the same place.

But - I *could* plug one system into one TV, and the other to a second TV in another room, and there'd be no membership/friend or other conflicts... correct?

 

No problems with that. I have my 360 in the living room where the kids like to play Just Dance and my One upstairs in the den. Myprofile has been logged into both simultaneously with no issues

 

You can even run the 360 through the One if you wanted to, though that would make playing the 360 games a bit laggy.

 

^^^^^^^ I was going to post this suggestion as well however I'm curious, why would it cause input lag on 360 games? Does it not just simply pass through? I've been trying to figure out how to utilize the HDMI input on the Xbox One. Do those who run their
cable box through experience issues? Just curious.

 

Apparently it is because of the pass through, in that you've got another machine to process the game before you see it.

It should only be a 'bit' and for most games I doubt it would be noticeable but in twitch based shooters for example it could be the difference between life or death.
