Strict NAT

My Xbox One always shows a strict NAT. Ive never had this problem in the past and im somewhat educated on how networks work. My 360 uses the same connection and has open NAT. Ive tried -Assigning a static ip outside of the DHCP range -forwarded all ports
mentioned here Xbox One Network Ports | Xbox Live Network Ports -added the mac address to dmz -factory reset router and redid everything above. -factory reset the xbox one. Using WRT120N router. Updated fully. not sure what else
to try, been messing with this for days and im about to give up and sell the one since I am unable to play with all my friends, some but not all.

Can't find wireless network

Wired connection seems to work.

NAT is showing as 'strict'. Wonder why the wireless is playing up.

If it's still strict after you open the proper ports, try resetting your modem and router, then hard reset your console.

Just select your router and follow the instructions. Do not download anything from the site, it's not necessary. It's a safe site, but port forwarding manually is very easy.

 

As you talk about you own a 360: have you configured any forwardings to the 360? If so, you'll have to delete them as this is not working to have ports forwarded to me than one device.

You may perform a multiplayer network test please and when the result shows up please hold LT, LB, RT and RB simultaneously to get a more detailed result. What's interesting is the detailed NAT status or any error codes you may receive.

 

I never had to forward ports for my 360.. cleared all port forwarding settings. Disabled dmz. Still have strict NAT. Results of the test, status code 0x4000200004C, detailed nat info says "Your network is behind a port-preserving port-symmetric NAT".. appreciate

Do you Port Forward your xbox 360? If yes - Do you have another Static IP for your xbox one? If also yes. Try to disable ALL Prot Forwarding and try to enable UPnP for testing. Then restart your Routern an start your xbox one - it should now have an open
NAT.

If this doesn´t help: Do you play wireless? There are many Problems with thios Router if you play wireless - ports not open and so on. Try to play wired to see if the Problem is only on wireless.

If nothing helps I think you need a new Router - I would buy a router who can ALSO install DD-WRT. So if you have Problems with it you upgrade to DD-WRT

 

The detailed status is telling that the ports seem to be in use by a different device already.

Please try putting the One in the DMZ to see if it makes any difference.

Are you on your own connection or are you maybe on an apartment or college network where you might share your connection?

 

Both the 360 and the x1 need port 3074 to be open to get an open NAT.

If your 360 nat is open then that means port 3074 is routed to the 360.

You can't use port forwarding or DMZ to fix this.

You need to rely exclusively on UPnP. Also static IPs should be created preferably through address reservation in the routers settings page.

I've been through all this with my previous router. A lot of routers don't support multiple consoles. This includes having one 360 and one x1 on the same network.

You should check to see if your router is on the network hardware information forum to see if it has multiple console support.
