Strict NAT trying to play destiny

Heres the situation, All I'm trying to do it play destiny with my brother who is in the same household on the same internet as me. Both our NAT are strict and i've done everything to try and even get 1 of them to be at least moderate. I have a cisco ea6500
router and a century link 660 series modem. Any ideas?

What game are you trying to play?

Not all games use the same Network port as xbox live so you can have an open NAT on the dashboard but your NAT in the game could be moderate or strict.

For instance COD requires port 3076 and Destiny port 1200 to be forwarded either by UPnP or port forwarding to get an open NAT.

 

Weird issue with mic

Sounds like NAT or network issues. Sometimes when two people have a certain network config you can play and chat with other people just fine, but not someone else with your same issue.

My wife and I used to have a similar issue with chat in OG Destiny. Check your NAT and make sure it is open not moderate or strict.

 

I can suggest things I have tried (but been unsuccessful).

Go to router settings and check to see if UPnP is enabled.

Otherwise port forward these using
http://portforward.com/ as directions...

Open Ports: 53, 80, 88, 500, 3074, 3544, 4500

With two xboxes on the same router you cannot use ANY portforwarding.Only Upnp is possible.

But there are certain routers unable to to this. Please check at
forums.xbox.com/.../default.aspx if your router is probably one of these.

 

Right i get this issue all the time where my console goes to strict and without fail i can open it all the time

1 turn router off and hard reset your console may need to do this 3/4 times on the router

2.go to test multiplier once test has done press rt lt rb lb then you nat should be set to open

works everytime for me after 3/4 goes

 

I just did step 2 of messiahbrownies suggested steps and it worked perfectly.

Must reset the xbox network settings.
