  1. Strict Nat Issues

    Hello Everyone,

I have recently purchased an Xbox One, while I can play games online to some degree (Pre-Destiny beta) I have suddenly loss the ability to connect with any of my friends (Even if they have an open Nat). I ran a few tests and found that my xbox is registering
that i have a Strict NAT. I tried following the directions of a few forums and youtube videos.

    http://forums.xbox.com/xbox_forums/xbox_support/xbox_360_support/f/9/p/1625236/4199656.aspx

I thought I might be double Natted so I went and purchased a new Modem to see if that was the issue, but I still got the same problem.

If anyone could help me out I would really appreciate it.

    SO heres my Setup.

    Modem: Netgear CMD31T

Router: Netgear N300 Wireless Router (WNR2000V2)

    Extender: Netgear WiFi extender (WN3000RPv1h2)

    Ports forwarded: 53(TCP/UDP), 80(TCP), 88(UDP), 500(TCP/UDP), 3074(TCP/UDP), 3544(TCP/UDP), 4500(TCP/UDP), 1600(TCP/UDP)

    Download Speed: 22.17 Mbps

    Upload Speed: 2.28 Mbps

    Packet Loss: 1%

    MTU: 1480

    Latency: 43 MS

    Wireless Strength: 65%

  2. Weird issue with mic

Sounds like NAT or network issues. Sometimes when two people have a certain network config you can play and chat with other people just fine, but not someone else with your same issue.

My wife and I used to have a similar issue with chat in OG Destiny. Check your NAT and make sure it is open not moderate or strict.

It's not the game you're playing, it's xbl

Anyone else's nat say strict at the moment? It always usually says open but I'm wondering if it's just saying strict caus of the issues they are having.

On a side not Xbox live has been a shitshow lately, something's always wrong.....

    Strict Nat Issues

Is there any chance you may try this with a wired connection?

If not then maybe at least without the repeater?

The status makes me think that the One does not get the ports forwarded, whether because they are forwarded to the wrong IP or the One gets blocked by your firewall completely.

  5. So I plugged my modems Ethernet cable directly into the xbox one, I still got the strict nat. I could watch videos and load websites but the network test said cannot get teredo ip.

Ok, that's kind of a progress I think.

Would you please check this thread on the exact same issue with the same router?

    forums.xbox.com/.../1642235.aspx

Maybe this works for you, too . If so, then go on and try the wireless connection again.

Would be great if you keep me updated on your progress.

  7. Went through the steps, removed my port forwarding, Disabled SIP ALG, Enabled UPnP, NAT Filtering is set to Open, Cleared my MAC Address, Set Console to Energy Saving Mode. Still have a strict NAT, Ran a Detailed Multiplayer Network Test and The Status Code
    Changed.

Ment to try this wired first. because I think you have two problems. The first one is the strict NAT due to teredo problems with the router and the second one is the wireless connection.

So please try the given steps with a wired connection first and let's see if the teredo problem is gone.

If so, then we can continue to the second step and see what's up with the wireless connection.

  9. do you have log files on your Modem?

Maybe your Provider blocks Teredo? You can ask your Provider if it is possible to use Teredo.

Retested with same steps, Wired connection directly to the router and to the modem, both tests resulted in the same Strict NAT. Since yesterday i have had a TWC Engineer show up and test my Connection, they didn't found any issues. Strict Nat Issues :(

    @XxRozillaxX

So its kinda funny you should say this, I actually had a TWC Engineer come to my house. They looked at it and told me that they do not block Teredo and he doesn't have this issue with his Xbox One.

I cannot seem to find Log Files for my modem, Sorry Strict Nat Issues :(

That's really strange. Especially because the status code given usually indicates an open NAT. So I got it right that you are not only on strict NAT no matter if wired or wireless but you also get identical error messages on both kinds of connection? Because
some posts before it sounded different, like getting an teredo error if wired but a different one of wireless. Could you confirm this please?

  12. I germany there was a Problem with Provider unitymedia. The Internetconnection they provide was:

Dual Stack lite ! This means that you get NO Personal IPv4 Adress but only an public IPv4 Adress like mobile phones. This also means that you can port forward or use upnp because you are on a NAT network of your provider - your IPv4 is used by thousands
of persons (like on a mobile phone).

So you can ask your Provider if dual stack lite is used. Or you can try to disable IPv6 on your Modem 8If you provider gives you an IPv6 IP).

    Strict Nat Issues

Close to it R0zilla Strict Nat Issues ;)

It was an (real) IPv6 connection which was used to realize IPv4 through a tunnel. Which led to have the traffic of the One tunneled by teredo by an IPv6 tunnel through an already through IPv6 tunneled Ipv4 tunnel Strict Nat Issues ;) The problem is known with all cable providers
    in germany not only unitymedia.

Sri for offtopic Strict Nat Issues :)

Could you please check a router setting for me?

Please check the configuration settings at:

    Advanced / Advanced setup / IPv6 settings

That's where the IPv6 tunneling is configured. And there the teredo tunneling seems to be interrupted. Please try "auto detect" there if not already selected. If that's not working pse try "pass through".

Unfortunately the manual is not showing me all options in the specific settings, so I would suggest to start with these two possibilities.
