  1. Strict NAT - ISP issue or is it on MS end?

my Xbox One has had a STRICT NAT for better than 3 weeks. When I called my service provider they said it was on the MS end. However, when my son assigns the ISP from his Xbox to mine it always switches to open.

I don't know much about this stuff and would love to have an idea who I should be talking with to get this resolved. Thanks, Xbox community!

    :)

  2. Is anyone's LIVE really slow today?

It might be a NAT issue if he always has trouble connecting, not just today. Although, sometimes if your modem is updated by your ISP provider, the NAT may be reset to moderate or strict.

Hey there- sounds like you have a tough NAT issue, yeah? Have you tried everything in this guide?

    NAT is Strict Or Moderate
? Also, have you talked to your ISP at all? Sometimes, in really stuborn cases, we do need their help.

It seems that the ports may be forwarded to his Xbox and not yours. If you mean IP when you say ISP. We would need to know the model of your router so we can point you in the right direction. It is possible to forward ports to more then one Xbox as long
    as your router supports it.

  5. Thanks, Jeff. Yes, I meant IP. When we want to play the 360 online or the ONE online in an OPEN capacity we have to switch the IP back and forth.

Best I can tell, I'm using a PACE DSL Gateway 3801HGV.

Yea then you need to go get yourself a router maybe something that says Xbox live compatible.

Wireless Routers for Home | NETGEAR

There is a link to netgear wireless routers which are great consumer class routers. Click the check box for gaming and then pick from that list copy and paste the name of the router to amazon or newegg or any other website for that matter and buy. After
you get yourself a good gaming router then you plug and play! YOur gateway may not be up to snuff in terms of port forwarding to more then one IP. It is working for 1 xbox but the other xbox is getting the shorter end of the stick. A good router will take
care of that for you. Leave in your gateway that is what your DSL needs to get out. Just put the router in front of it and plug everything into the router. Have one cable going from the gateway your Pace to your new router then everything go into your router
    from there.

If you have any issues after you plug in that router come back here and we can walk through a few steps on your gateway it may need to be bridged or some other settings changed in that. Not a problem just wont know if it will be until you plug in your new router.

There is another good link to help you specifically for Xbox. you may find a lot of good stuff there. If you want to surf around that in the mean time waiting for the new router or if you don't plan on buying a new router. You can always just try and login
to your pace and see what kind of settings it provides its your DSL so I am sure they are very limited. This is why I suggest getting a new router and using that for your LAN instead of that PACE. You need to have that PACE because it probably has a phone
line going in then a CAT5 or Ethernet cable whatever you want to call it coming out. That is demodulating the signal so you will need it no matter what. Most DSL's will recognize a router and bridge themselves which I am hoping that will happen. The settings
with the router should get you up and running. It is in their best interest that you get working quick and easy and use their routers. So they usually have a quick start guide and make it real easy nowadays. Plug and play like I said before.

But like I said any issues come back here this thread is on my forum home page so I will see if you respond. Whatever your next step ends up being.
