Strict NAT help?

Router brand & model number: Netgear R6300

How many 360 and One consoles are connected to this router?: 2

Wired or wireless (for each console): Wireless for all

Things you have tried: Forwarding ports, Static IP, DMZ, holding the triggers and bumpers when testing connection (I have to wait 5-15 minutes until it goes open, but it goes back to strict after I turn the console back on

Is UPnP Enabled? Yes/no/Unknown: Yes

Do you have a NAT error? If so, what is your NAT type? Strict

Who is your ISP?(Internet Service Provider): Comcast

Can't find wireless network

Wired connection seems to work.

NAT is showing as 'strict'. Wonder why the wireless is playing up.

 

Xbox One NAT type: Strict.... Help

If it's still strict after you open the proper ports, try resetting your modem and router, then hard reset your console.

This site will help you open the right ports
Open Port

Just select your router and follow the instructions. Do not download anything from the site, it's not necessary. It's a safe site, but port forwarding manually is very easy.

I had the same issue. I tried for moths to resolve it! It sounds like you have the same problem I did, namely what's referred to as a "double NAT." Basically you've got one nat on your router and another on your modem. You must port forward your modem
to open the nat to the router and port forward your router to your xbox one. The netgear forwarding is explained on many websites much better than I can explain to you here. Forwarding of your modem is a matter of logging into it and port forwarding it to
the IP address of your router.

 

I have found a temporary fix (or permanent, as I have yet to see if it will fail me or not).

I have hardwired my xbox into my modem-router combo (I have that and a router) and it seems to have worked... for now.

Things you have tried: Port forwarding, Port triggering, Static IP, holding the triggers and bumpers when testing connection, Put the xbox into Energy Saving mode. It's mostly on Strict and only sometimes it will go to moderate by itself.

Any Error Codes you encounter: When testing multiplayer connection, i get a Cannot get a Teredo IP.

Who is your ISP?(Internet Service Provider): Axxess

This applies to both consoles.

Double portforwarding doesn't always work. In case of a double NAT you should try putting your router in Bridge mode first. If there is no such option available you can portforward your router on your modem and DMZ your xbox on your router

So the setup is as following

Modem->"port forward"-> router -> "DMZ" -> Xbox One

the "Can't get a teredo, IP" and then select "Gateway" as your setup since that is a modem with built in router.

If the steps mentioned there don't work please create a new post so support can be focussed on your issue itself
