Strict NAT and Teredo IP address error, says my network is behind a firewall, don't know ...

I'm using a Linksys E1200 router, I'm on my college campus so I have no idea what the modem is. I've tried DMZ, Port Forwarding, UPnP, I even factory reset my Console, and nothing. I'm stumped on what to do. Any suggestions?

Can't find a Teredo IP adress...

Hello there everyone,

So i'm getting the error of "Can't find a Teredo IP adress" and believe me i tried everything to work it out, but nothing worked..

My firewall is disable, and i turn UPnP on.

I opened all the ports that was needed to be open,

I've tried the option of using the RB,RT,LB,LT option but still getting a strict NAT and the same error message.

When i'm getting the detailed network stattistic, it give me the status code of 0x40000000000, and from what i check this code is for a Cone NAT but my NAT information says that "it's behined a firewall (or not connected)"

and i don't know what else to do...

Maybe someone can help me out?

Right, I've checked my NAT type on my console and it says that "your network is behind a firewall(or not connected). I hadn't realized that I can't play multiplayer aswell, until yesterday. When I check my multiplayer connection it says it can't get a Teredo
IP address. I've tried enabling and disabling UPnP but the same message still appears. My friend's NAT types are all open.

 

Is the router your own?

If you are using your own router then you could be behind a double NAT.

As far as I know colleges use routers to link to every room. If you have your own router in your own room then you will have a double NAT. double NATs will cause problems and be impossible to fix by port forwarding.

Couldn't you connect the xbox directly to the campus connection via ethernet instead of connecting to your own router?

 

That's how I was connected at first, but the exact same error occurred, and I thought since it said my network was behind a firewall, that if I got a router and turned firewalls off, it would work, I guess I was wrong, I'm not real tech savvy as far as this
stuff goes. I'm going to call my schools it desk today and hopefully they can help me solve the issue

 

Yes contacting your schools IT desk would be best.

Also don't use your router if your college does have it's own NAT. To share you internet between different devices you should just a an Ethernet switch or a wireless access point that doesn't have it's own NAT.
