Streched image on a 14:9 TV and rattling sound

    Hi,

I bought an Xbox One today and I want to use it on my 14:9 1400x900px resolution screen. I use the HDMI out and my problem is, that the aspect ratio isn't correct. Circles look streched (like eggs a bit). The same with everything else. It's not fun to play
with that. I tried 1080p and 720p and all of my TV's settings (like 14:9, 16:9, Zoom...) but none of them is what it should be like. On my Xbox 360, everything works fine. The 360 recognised the 1400x900px resoultion, the One doesn't care about that. Is there
a solution for this? I don't want to buy a new TV. If there's no solution, I might return the console Streched image on a 14:9 TV and rattling sound :(

I also have a rattling/clattering sound. On the homescreen I have this sound all the time, when clicking something on the screen, it might stop for half a second. I'm installing a game and it rattles with a stop twice a second. Do you guys hear anything
from your One in case no Disc is in the drive apart from the cooler maybe? I wonder if that sound is normal, but I don't think so.

    Thanks in advance.

    :)

  2. Rattling sound in xbox slim.

My Xbox slim has a slit rattling sound. All of my other consoles had it to. My discs are not damaged and it runs the games excellent. I have to horizontal on a solid surface. Only some games make the console to that rattling sound. If I download the to my
hard drive then there's no sound what so ever. I hear its very common in consoles. the sound is pretty quiet. I will only notice if it I have the sound on my TV all the way down. Now for my questions. Should I be worried? Will this cause any damage in the
future? Basically is everything going to be ok?

  3. Screen Resolution too wide

The first thing to try is going to your Console settings and then, click on "Display and sound". From there, try "Calibrate HDTV". One of the test is calibrating the aspect ratio of your TV. Check if everything is right.

Then, from your TV, check if there is somewhere a setting to change your image format (generally, you can change it to Auto, 16:9, Enlarged, 4:3, zoomed, ...). Checked if it's set to 16:9. Before doing that be sure to set your TV input to the HDMI input
    where your Xbox is connected.

    Hey there Gamejunkie5!

Sorry to hear about the stretched screen issue and rattling sound. Let's see what we can do to help get these issues sorted. For the image resolution, normally your resolution settings are selected automatically. I recommend checking out our how
to adjust the display settings on your Xbox One
page to verify that your TV settings meet the requirements of the Xbox One console.

For the rattling issue, I recommend trying the following steps:

    • Press and hold the power button on your Xbox One console for 5 seconds.
    • Once your console is powered off, unplug the power cord.
    • Wait 5 minutes and then plug in your console.
    • Power on your console to check to see if you are still hearing the rattling sound.
Please let us know if after trying the suggested steps you are still experiencing issue and we will see what we can do to help.

Hi. Even if my thread is really old, both problems are not fixed. The rattling is a hardware issue, of course, so I am not sad because it's still like that.

But it's a shame, that the Xbox One is still not capable of outputting an image with black bars at the top or the sides, like the 360 did. Why should you make something worse if it already worked?

I had to buy a different TV just to play without a super streched image. Great..
