    Hello and thank you for responding! Here is a little backstory: I just moved into college and brought my laptop and an Xbox controller, but no Xbox. I figured that because I can stream my Xbox to my phone with no issues that I would be able to do the same with a laptop. I noticed that I only need the IP address of the Xbox console to connect it to my laptop... however this is not working. I am receiving an error message: "We couldn't find an Xbox One Console with the IP address provided." even though I know the IP address I entered is correct. Why can't I add the Xbox as a device? Any help would be great, thanks!

    Are you minimizing the Xbox console companion app while using to stream your Xbox to it?

    Why are you wanting to stream your xbox to the laptop?

    Are you running anything else on the laptop whilst trying to stream?

    Well if you want to do it thru the console.companion or you can sign up for xbox game pass ultimate and do cloud streaming which case you dont need a console but it has to be a xcloud supported.title

    To use Xbox with Xbox Companion on PC, both must be on the same network. This does not work like Remote Play.
