    Streaming Xbox 360(or another device) to Windows 10 through oneguide


    Having issues streaming oneguide content to Windows 10. Currently I have my 360 plugged in there. I use it for various things, one of them being playing old games that aren't on BC. It functions flawlessly except when the tv the Xbox one is
    plugged into is off.

    It can stream to Windows 10 with the tv also on, but when the TV is off the Xbox one says it lost the connection to the 360.

    Is this intended or a bug?

    Xbox app, antivirus false intrusions.

    What antivirus do you have? The Windows 10 Xbox App has discovery functions and tries to reach your Xbox devices through your local network for features like streaming or SmartGlass. This will probably be detected by your antivirus like "intrusion attempts".

    Please, check if you can add exceptions or consider your choice and try another antivirus software that is ready for Windows 10.

    Would you buy a add on that lets you play your games on another TV?

    In the latest preview update, Microsoft has a poll asking about network capabilities as they prepare for the game streaming on windows 10 devices.

    This got me thinking, If you don't have a windows 10 device, would you rather invest in a portable device to stream games to or something like a Amazon fire stick to stream games to another TV? Assuming both require you to be on the same network the Xbox is on.

    I think I would just like to be able to play on another TV. I have my Xbox setup in my theatre room, but it would be cool to just play on whatever TV I want.

    Thanks for bringing this situation to our attention here on the forums. Are you talking about a Nintendo Switch? If so it definitely depends on the compatibility of the device for use on Xbox One's Oneguide (which is designed for watching Live TV). It could
    be that the streaming from the Xbox One to the Windows 10 PC cant handle the load of information from the Nintendo Switch trying to be streamed through your home network.

    Are you trying to stream a game from Xbox 360 to Windows 10? That's not supported - the media center of old was for streaming videos and songs.

    There is a way to stream Xbox 360 games to Windows 10, but it involved using an Xbox One and playing the backwards compatible Xbox 360 on the Xbox 360, then streaming the Xbox One to Windows 10.

    There is no built in streaming to the Xbox 360 console. Using the Elgato or another capture card would be the easiest way to stream that content. I agree, the built in streaming for Xbox One and Windows 10 is pretty great and can spoil you, but it's
    not available for the Xbox 360.

    You set it up through the Oneguide app. Basically the same app you use to run your cable or satellite box through to watch TV. Honestly it's just putting in a middle man to stream content your already streaming with another device. The X1 adds no value
    to the equation, it would be better to just run the HDMI cord directly to your TV.
