Streaming problems with MP4 files

    Streaming problems with MP4 files


    I have some Video files I'm trying to play on my Xbox one and they aren't being recognized. Currently I have a Hard drive attached to my Asus router with a folder for movies I've downloaded or burnt from blu-rays I buy. The whole point is so that I can play
    these files anywhere in the house with an internet connection and a DLNA enabled device. I have mostly MP4 files on the hard drive which play fine. But I recently ran into a few files that are, as far as I can tell, the same MP4 files as others that work but
    when I launch the Media Player App it won't even show the files on the list with the others. Why would this be?

    I'm getting the same problem while streaming from my Windows 8.1 PC. I had almost no problems streaming from my Windows 7 PC. It would happen occasionally, but now it happens 2 seconds in. Sometimes files won't even open. .mp3, .mp4, .avi, .mkv. It doesn't
    matter. They all close.

    It's been eight months. I would like my "all in one" to stream from network already.

    no sub for
    basic features    , which includes streaming on the local network.

    and what file format are you using? seems to work with AVI, MP4 and MKV.

    So, I figured out that apparently the Asus Router wasn't updating the attached devices for some reason. But it still won't display the Movie Covers that come with allot of the downloads you buy off amazon and when you get the digital copies. If I attach
    the hard drive directly it shows those pictures and my computer shows those pictures but when streaming through the network it doesn't show up. Any thoughts on this problem?

    Don't know if u any Android devices but if you load your media onto Android and then go to other settings and then share with nearby devices all of this seems to work well for me

    Don't know if u any Android devices but if you load your media onto Android and then go to other settings and then share with nearby devices all of this seems to work well for me

    I've tried to stream videos from my network drive for the first time today through X360 and getting exactly the same problem. For me it is mp4 files.

    Change playback language on videos from USB

    The Xbox 360 media player had to make some cuts to fit in the Xbox 360 system memory. For MP4 video files, multiple audio streams (and selection thereof) is not supported. The Xbox 360 will always play the first audio stream of a media file, with no way
    to change the audio stream.

    You might have to remove the English audio stream from the file or remux it, so the Spanish language track is the first in the file.
